Tried to watch the movie Barbie last Friday at this AMC. After 20 minutes of no projector image during the previews we sat and waited another 45 minutes for them to try and fix the projector. Over an hour later they came in and told us it wasn't going to work and to come back another time. We all lined up in a long queue and the staff started hanging out movie vouchers to people, one per person. We don't live in the area so I requested a refund showing the receipt used to purchase our tickets. The manager said "Do you think we can just give away free money? I need your ticket stub." I told her my ticket stub was in my seat and she said I should go back and look for it if I want my money back. So I went back into the empty theater with a heavy heart, knowing all too well the ticket stub had already been swept up by the cleaners. My fears were correct. The manager refused to give us refunds even with proof of purchase and I'm giving this theater one star for terrible service and poor communication. Hey owners and employees of AMC, you need to show the movies to the people if you're going to keep their $$$$. Just refund the money if your projector is busted.
Reclining seats, snacks delivered to you during the movie if you book online, plenty of parking... These are a few of my favorite things. AMC got us back in the routine of seeing new movies in the theater which is a fun addition to post pandemic life. Most recently we saw MI:7 and Barbie... Both were amazing!
There recliner seats are awesome and if you don’t know they are touch screen. Prime shows are the best here, as you can feel the sound literally. Screen quality is awesome too. The only thing is if the seats would recline little further as they don’t recline completely.
A couple pros and lots of cons. We loved the luxury seating. It was so comfortable. The screen and sound was great too. You can tell they’ve put in some upgrades. The cons are that it’s an old building with terrible bathrooms. It’s like being in a furnace room with a large fan pumping and screeching. Old and dirty toilets. It was bad. We happened to come on a night when the popcorn machine was broken. Then, after our movie ended, it was up and running, but the whole hallway and lobby was filled with smoke. To top it off, the movie kept glitching. We saw Indiana Jones. It was small, quick little blips in the movie, but it happened a ton throughout the whole thing. My main issue is that I paid $10+ per ticket with full price concessions and got a very subpar experience. I could have gone to any other theatre and paid a similar price and not had to deal with the issues.
What movie theater is out of popcorn? This place has gone down hill; cleanliness almost nonexistent, Coke Freestyle Machines don’t work as they should, no print paper for your receipts? So if I challenge being shorted an item I purchased I have no way to prove it? The only thing this place has going for them is the reclining seats… what’s let down for the movie goer having a pleasant experience.
We enjoyed seeing a midweek flick here at the AMC. They have renovated and it is much nicer than when we used to come many years ago. Good seating. I would love to get Kettle Corn here.
I saw Barbie in theater 7 tonight. There was something wrong with the projector. The image was a little dim and the focus was soft. I told an employee and they tried to fix the focus but the picture was never sharp. Also one of the speakers in the back of the auditorium would crackle whenever the score was playing a low sustained note. Overall it's a nice theater but they really need to fix the projector and sound.
The seats are rad, the sound + picture are great, been here for a lot of movies. On the negative side, you can’t order popcorn online before the movie without paying extra to have it delivered. Very scummy. Also, there urinals are PAINFULLY close together. See picture. The popcorn is also hit or miss — sometimes you get a whole bin of just scraps and that sucks. But they give out a lot of free popcorn after their late-night shows, and the cleaning crew does a pretty good job. Can’t complain too much. It’s the best theater in Provo in my opinion.
I will never go to AMC again. Why? I understand that the snacks and popcorn are expensive, but $9.25 for a medium popcorn? Also, I went to see Oppenheimer, which is rated R, but I was served an extremely disturbing trailer about a new exorcist movie. Again, I was going to see Oppenheimer, not a scary movie. Trailers should be appropriately placed within the context of the movie you paid money to see. Also, didn't really appreciate 30 minutes of trailers and then finally a sad AMC ad with Nicole Kidman trying to woo you about the magic of going to a theater. I was feeling no such magic. Sorry to say, but it's because of experiences like this, and spending double the amount you would on dinner, that movie theaters are dying. Won't be sad to see AMC go.
I’ve loved going to AMC theaters since I was 5 years old. It’s been 25 years later and I still love the company. AMC has passionate friendly employees who will greet you on your way in and thank you for visiting on your way out. This company has been in business for over 100 years and counting. They offer FREE refills on large popcorn and sodas. They also have memberships that offer free upgrades and more depending on the membership tier refer to their AMC Stubs A-List for more information. They also offer a credit card that gets you points. Use the points to get discounts on your next movie ticket! They have a HUGE bag of Perfectly popped popcorn you can buy. Lastly, they sell popcorn in major retail stores Walmart as far as I know of. P.S. They have reclining heated seats. HEATED SEATS!!! Perfect for the winter. The heated seats are only offered for digital format movies and not the 3D format. The 3D format movie recliners just recline… no heat. Investors get a free ICEE as of currentJuly 3rd. You will have to refer to the AMC app to see what they are offering for investors. Overall, I love the company. I love the stock. They are literally the best movie company out there in my honest opinion.
