I loved the old pub aesthetic of this place. The staff was nice. The food was delicious with so many good choices. I want to go back to try other menu items I didn't get to order. Also they made a great Black & Tan. A great place for dinner or a beer.
The service was great. Waitress was very nice and checked on us frequently. The drinks were large and made well. I thoroughly enjoyed my food which consisted of French onion soup, fish and chips with sweet potato fries and a side salad. Large servings and very tasty. I will be back for sure.
Very nice, quaint little place, in what seems to be an old farmhouse??? I had ordered the baked haddock, which I enjoyed very much. The salad was also very good, and crisp. The only issue that I had is if you have any food allergies, let them know right away. They will be more than happy to accommodate you.
This was our first time in this family-run establishment. We were there with another couple and our experience was excellent. The bar was open. Staff wore masks as one might expect. Everyone there was very friendly and accommodating. Kettle chips with spicy dressing is highly recommended by the other couple we were with; it was very crunchy. Funnily, although this is an Irish establishment, the 3 of us ended up ordering Italian dishes while one of us ordered Cottage Pie. Everyone in our party loved their meals. I loved my eggplant rollatini. Generous portions, too. Apparently, this place is a very popular neighborhood establishment. We look forward to our next visit at this restaurant to have great social interactions with our friends.
Definitely in the top 3 best reubens I've ever had.. it was amazing. And the homemade chips pair with it perfectly. Recommend getting a little side of Guinness gravy to dip the chips in cause it's so delicious. I just found this place and plan on eating here often.
Prime Rib with veggies and smashed potatoes. Cooked like they read my mind. Great portion sizes. Love the flavor. Erin had a big salad. Very pleased with the variety of veggies and flavors. Great service by Julie. Excellent timing with drinks and hooked me up with a couple quick warm dinner rolls without me asking because I mentioned being starving. We had the closest table to evening entertainment, Dan on the guitar. Sound level was perfect. Ballston is fortunate to have this quality restaurant in town. Owners Matt and Stephanie are top pros.
I've been coming here since I was a kid with my Grandparents, I recently moved out to the area and although the owners have changed, I definitely see why this was a staple for my family. The music is incredible on the weekends, the regular weekday crowd is great and the food and drinks are top notch. The service is great, Stephanie and Matt are super friendly and want to make sure their customers are taken care of, Kathy Cathy? Sorry lol and Jen are equally just as great! If you're in the area I encourage you to stop by, and if you're lucky enough to be there when they have the Prime Rib sandwich or Cottage Pie I encourage you to try those usually on weekends, bottom line is this, great food, great beer, great people and best of all great prices, what more could you ask for?
Very friendly place! Food is great and staff is super personable, my boyfriend and I always sit at the bar and most the staff knew our names and orders after only a couple times of being there. Stephanie is awesome and Jen is a sweetheart! One bartender that works weekdays is a little less attentive then the rest of the crew but it doesn't stop me from going. Worth stopping by especially for happy hour; can't beat BOGO drafts, wine and wells!
Carney's is a great local family dining restaurant. The food is good and the staff is friendly. It's not a place to go if you're in a hurry as the service can be a little slow and inattentive at times. But if you're okay with taking your time then it's great. Happy hour and $1 kids meals on Tuesdays are things to look forward to.
Delicious! Had the Taco Salad with their award winning chili in a deep fried taco bowl. The shell was so light and crispy and the salad very fresh. I have never had a bad meal here. Fast friendly service in a historic quaint setting.
