We are new to the area and despite the sketchy reviews wanted to give a local non-chain place a try. wow. It was so disappointing that I cannot imagine going back for anything but a beer and the lake view. An almost empty restaurant at 7pm should have been my first clue. We were shown to a table promptly, but then nearly 10 minutes passed before someone came to take a drink order. I ordered a burger medium well and it was so undercooked the bun was saturated with nasty pink run-off that pooled onto the plate. Needless to say, I ate only the fries which were served on a side plate 'cause they were an up charge. If I'm going to be charged nearly $20 for a burger, fries and a beer, you gotta have good quality meat not frozen patties that you forget to cook, good bun and generous on the potatoes. This failed to execute on many levels. It is too bad... nice location...nice people...scary food.
I'm not one to complain, in fact I'm the kind of person who deals with a messed up order because I dont like to call over the waitress and tell them my order is wrong, but I was extremely disappointed in this place and I highly reccomend going else where..I was planning to have my wedding ceremony and reception here because it seemed nice from looking at it and their website. My now husband is in the military and I only had 2 months to plan a wedding for when he came home on leave. The first time we went there there was only one other table with people at it. It took them a half hour before someone finally came and asked if we wanted anything to drink. We already had our orders ready and had for 25 mins. We finally got our food about 50 mins laternot kidding and it wasnt all that great.. We just assumed that since it was a family owned restaurant that maybe the cooks were on their break or something because we came at an off time. I had talked with the owner about having a wedding there and she seemed very helpful and gave me a few packetsall of which were very confusing. She had told me that I would be able to change some things on the menu if we wanted too, meaning switch out one type of food instead of having another. They showed us the banquet room and told us that they can fit 70 people in there. THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN FIT THAT MANY IN THAT TINY LITTLE ROOM. There were 7 people with us in that roomme, my mom, my maid of honor, my grandmother, my aunt, and the waitress who should us the room and it seemed cramped with just us. The dance floor was tiny, the lighting was bad and there was hardly any room for the tables. the dance floor was literally a foot away from the door entering the room and the chairs for the tables were touching the dance floor. We were still considering it because it was cheap and we werent having many guests. Well we had called TWO DAYS AHEAD of time to request to come in and try the food before making any final plans. We even told them what food we would be ordering. We got there and they told us we were getting the VIP treatment, which consisted of being shoved in the corner with little room to move and a piece of paper that said "reserved seating". When we sat down and ordered, they told us some of the food we wanted wasnt available because it takes 2 days to dethawumm we made our reservations and told them what we wanted 2 days in advance?!?!?! We settled on trying some other foods instead. It took them over an HOUR to bring us our food plus they forgot the sides of veggies that we requested. When we requested the veggies, they said they didnt have that kind available that day but they could put the seasonings on some veggies for us. We just said to forget about it. But they brought it out anyways. They gave us a hand full of over cooked broccoli and a smashed potatonot mashed or baked, they looked like they took a potato and hit it with a potato masher once then threw some seasoning on it and charged us $8 for each for them.. The food not only came in tiny portionedkeep in mind there was 6 of us there trying the food and we were only able to get maybe a bit of eat meal but the food was just plain horrible. Not one of us liked it. The pasta was fine though, but come on how hard is it to cook pasta?? I went up and talked to the owner about the service we were getting and asked her if this was the same service we would get at our wedding. She became rude but told me she was sorry and we would receive better service next time. by that time I was already having HUGE doubts about the place. I then went on to discuss the menu with her and asked if we could switch some of the food on the menu that I choice like she originally said I could. However she began telling me how she wont change the menus and that she created them herself because they were the best options. I basically told her I would think about it and call them back if I was interested...Long story short I never went back and never will..I found someplace a million times better...
