Doctor gave me a back brace due to my degenerative disk. A bill arrives in the mail stating I have to pay $500 for the brace. I call my insurance and the company who confirms this was a mistake all is taken care of. Then again 5 months later, I get another bill saying my balance is past due. How is it that the company and my insurance said it was paid? Seems like poor unethical business practice to me. Make sure you always follow up if you use this company because they will try and bleed you dry.
in response to the above comment- the patient was given a brace, and the billed balance applied entirely to deductible. So yes, the insurance company thought all was fine, but we never received a penny from the insurance company. This was the patients amount due, I am sorry she was upset, but we do not commit fraud here.
