Two weeks ago my son passed away. The doctors went above and beyond to try and save him. I also want to acknowledge Lori, Nurse Social Worker, for her caring and compassion in working with me to have my son's personal effects returned to me. I wish I could thank them all personally. God bless
I cannot say enough positive things about St. Mary’s and the staff there. They provided fantastic, compassionate and thoroughly competent care for my mom. Thanks to the hospital staff she is alive and on the mend, back in her own home, ready to enjoy the time she has with her loving family. There are too many people to thank and I don’t know everyone’s names, but nurses Jamie, Carmen and Doctors Ramirez and Higa were fantastic. I had to return home when she entered rehab, but she says they were great too. Together, the team at St Mary’s got her patched up and back on the road. They are a credit to their community and the goodness of mankind. Cheers!
I would give zero. My husband was in with Covid and was put in a room where non working equipment was put. His bed adjustment didn't work, his call button didn't work. Overworked nurses became angry and short with him. I called the floor, left messages for someone to call me. His food no matter what it was came to him cold. That is unsafe. I couldn't bring him food because I also had Covid and had to stay home. I called the advocate and got no response. I want a call from someone before I pay my part of the bill. I headed to the hospital to check him out and into another hospital when they released him. We will never go back.
Sat down in their lobby around 1:30-2:00 pm for a potential blood clot in my medi port. It is now 6:32 and I have only had my blood drawn. I guess blood clots in the chest isn't as serious as my oncologist, Google, and every doctor claims they are since I've just been sitting in the lobby for the last 5-6 hours. *pic for attention
This place is amazing. The amount of care and explanations we received every step of the way was incredible. Every email responded to and every person who was going into the operating room for my husbands TAVR stopped and introduced themselves. I can’t say enough about Dr. Lotun and his incredibly talented staff.
Patient transferred from a free standing ER to St. Mary’s. I should have known nothing would go right since they said “drive yourself, there’s no ambulance for you.” The patient in pain was forced to sit in the office for an hour even though we had immediate transfer orders from an affiliated ER. The nurse management was unhelpful and barely accommodating. 19 hours without food or water only to get bumped from the surgery schedule due to a lack of operating rooms. Do not recommend. Drive yourself to Phoenix instead.
Waited hours to be seen when the doctor comes and orders a treatment. So another hour and a nurse shows up with my discharge papers. I'm like, "WHAT ABOUT THE TREATMENT?" Once they realize I'm not crazy they finally come in and hang the antibiotics. What they don't do is make sure they're running! I wasn't in an actual room and no one was actually responsible for me! It took me staring at the non dripping drip for another half an hour to figure out why. Another fifteen minutes to get to someone out in the hall to help me! Eventually I have to use the restroom only no one is coming. I end up snatching my IV off the wall and getting myself tangled into the IV line but at least I didn't wet myself! Kept seeing the nurse with my pain medication which I have needed since I came in but of course he doesn't pretend to care! I ask for the charge nurse to tell her that I still need the medicine the doctor ordered and she doesn't have a clue or a concern. She threatened me when I told her I didn't think it was a good idea to leave patients unattended with no help! She's ready for me to leave and even though I tell her my port needs to be de-accessed with Heparin she tells me it's not true. Since I have had my port since 2001 I'm reasonably sure I know what I'm talking about. So now she's mad and I am discussed! St. Mary's tells patients in the ER to call the charge nurse but they don't seem to realize she's as likely to be as awful as everyone else but the doctor I dealt with! NEVER COMING BACK!
Nurse was very rude but the ED doctor had great bedside manner. They are there to help you. If you have an emergency don’t go to banner come to st Mary and if you have time to drive a little more go to TMC that’s the best hospital in Tucson. Banner is nice but has the worst ER in the country so unless you have something scheduled avoid them at all cost. St Mary is a safe option that may save you, they’re compassionate they were even treating transported prisoners with A1 care. Stay blessed.
Danielle was excellent. Waited and waited and waited some more. My ekg was normal so I left there was still 10 people ahead of me. Ridiculous for having only 1 doc on duty. Wow I forgot the best part a guy passed out and hit his head. Me and another lady told the girl at check in and she said oh well security will get him. 15 mins later they got him laughing and joking about him. You people have no humanity or decency. Shame on you
If due to life circumstances you or any of your loved ones have to spend the night in the patient area at St Marys hospital make sure they are not under the care of nurse Nichole with sunflower tattoos on her arm. Last night my father spent the night in the inpatient area after surgery he had in the morning. The attitude that this nurse Nichole had was the most discriminatory act that I had received in my life. She is not good at all and is extremely angry with what she is doing at St Marys hospital Tucson AZ. Please be careful with her and don't ignore this experience I had. You cannot leave your loved ones in the hands of someone like her, disrespectful and rude, since no family member can stay by the patient's side.
