Saw MD over 3 weeks ago and was told I’m supposed to have an Endoscopy for a stomach bleed. Meanwhile I left 20 messages and called several times in the office and left messages with their answering service- trying to get a hold of the staff member who coordinates scheduling Leticia. I even went to St Mary’s GI lab where I’m supposed to have time procedure done. They told me I need to wait until Leticia gets back to me. She never reached out to me. Now I’m symptomatic again and am showing signs of bleeding. I left 3 more messages with this information 4 days ago and that I will take any next available appointment and explaining that I urgently need to have the endoscopy. Ladies on the phone assure you that Leticia will call you. My experience in over 3 weeks-again, no one will ever call back.
Awful! Every time I go in I feel very unwelcome. When I came to pick up my samples for my meds I’ve waited for almost an hour and everyone was just sitting around laughing and talking. The doctor didn’t make me feel comfortable either. I’m never coming back here again, I’m getting a new gastroenterologist! The staff never returns calls, it takes them 3 weeks to return your calls. When I went in the hospital in March it took them a month to get my meds!! A month! That’s crazy! And they’ve never called to see how I was or ask for any updates. It’s June now and I saw them in March! March! I honestly don’t think they care about their patients...
My in office experience only: Dr Iftikhar was relaxed and answered my questions. It would have been nice to receive a written thorough explanation of the colonoscopy as I found myself learning everything through the internet and missed a few things. The staff was OK. When I called the office the staff seemed distracted and did not offer up any information. When I had questions about the prep I was to do for the procedure I felt I was given very little information. The hospital was surprised that Dr Iftikhars' staff had told me to come early and get my covid test outside of the facilities posted hours.
Dr is meh, offices are a joke. They sent a complement of invoice to my former insurance company for 50$ 18 months after! Of course I had moved meanwhile. They did not even care to give me call... And found nothing better than put me on debt collection! Such incompetence could be laughable if it was not so sad... By the way, no luck to get someone on the phone, the voicemail tells you that they will call back in 48h. still waiting. Horrible. to avoid.
The office staff is very inept...they don’t return calls., they must not pass messages to appropriate departments, because they don’t return calls. We requested a copy of our records, because we have found a better Dr. They said to give them a week. We gave them 7 work days...when we went to pick them up, they knew nothing about it, and person we had spoken to before, was busy. We requested they mail them to us...that should be interesting...doubt it will happen. Dr. Iftikhar wasn’t much better. He ordered a CT scan & after waiting for weeks to get results we tried calling, calling, leaving msgs, and all went unanswered. Eventually he called and left us a msg ...asking..WHO ordered scan...Really? All this Dr. did was sit behind his desk..and ask questions and type into computer...never laying a hand on patient. We practically had to force him to touch patient’s chest to show him where the problem was. I would NEVER recommend him & office to anyone!
I would give it a zero if I could. After waiting 2 hours for a first visit in Dec., I spent 10 minutes with the doctor. He said he could not help without my records and he walked me to a girl who he directed to get my information. I gave it to her. I called 4x in January, 4 x in February, 3x in March, once in April. No answer and no calls back. Finally a voicemail in mid April saying they have no knowledge of my records because they have a whole new staff. Only then did I get a bill that said first statement on top and on the bottom said the payment was over 120 over due. I tried 4 x to call and complain about the bill. Still haven't heard from them. Between insurance and me, he made $184.00 an hour and delivered no service!!
I have never seen such a dysfunctional "clinic". It has been like going to a doctor in some third world country. On 06/06/17 they collected my $35 copay, I met with Dr. Safdar for about five minutes and I was told that his assistant would call me within two days with instructions about the lab test that I need. Two weeks later I have left four messages and have still not had a return call. Today I went down to their office here in Green Valley, AZ and there was no one there and the door was locked even though the sign said their hours are 8 to 5 Monday thru Friday. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!
In waiting room webs underneath all the chairs. Who ever cleans that office cleans very bad.
I stopped any progress with this practice at scheduling. The rep excused her lack of knowledge because she schedules for 75 doctors. I do not care! My referral should have been in front of her with my name and dob...what do they do with their referrals?! Steer clear of this madness and go somewhere else. Run, man, run!
I saw Dr. Safdar for a few months. He might be a good doctor but his staff is a laughing circus. Their paper work is always wrong and never return your calls. I ask for a supervisor and it was like talking to a brick wall. She was clueless. I was so frustrated that i had to look for another G.I. doctor
