I really enjoy going there. A coworker suggested I check it out. Needless to say, it was worth it. While I highly recommend having a bike, it’s still cool to walk the trails on foot. It’s amazing how much the landscape changes in some areas. Sometimes it’s a jungle, other times it’s almost like a savannah. If you’re looking for a huge park, this’s for you. It’s a shame they don’t have basketball courts, though.
What a beautiful area! It's close to town. Has lots of trails for mountain biking and spots to fish or kayak. Gorgeous. I can't get enough of the live oaks! Definitely a spot I'd go hang out at if I lived here. I am from Ohio.
This park is home to my favorite trail system in the state Carter road.
Employee kicked us out and told us the park was closed for FEMA. Told us to come back at 6 to play disc golf. Yea buddy we have night vision. Thanks for the great advice. Walked for 2 miles from my house to get here. Now I have to walk back w/o playing a round. Do better Polk County Public Parks Edit: Park still says Open if searched on google. They should probably give people some warning about it being closed besides a spray painted sign out front. Furthermore, if people are walking in the grass, how are they interfering with the trucks driving ON THE ROAD?!? Beyond unbelievable.
It says that the park is open when you look it up on Google, but in reality when you arrive there they tell it’s only open from 7 P.M. - 10 P.M. for the next few months, which is extremely inconvenient if you make a thirty minute drive to go there. They should really update the hours on Google so people won’t waste time and gas to get there just to be turned down.
Awesome MTB trails! Something for every skill level. Soooo much room for activities!!!
A well hidden gem. Wide open space . A beautiful lake as you drive in on the right hand side. There is also a dog park here .
Went to go hike trails but was told at the gate that the park is closed for the next couple of months. You’re allowed to go in after 6pm but the park closes at 7pm. Construction trucks all over.
The park is beautiful. Very family-friendly! But they really need to do something about the entrance and exit. After games it takes a good 15 minutes to leave the park. It's a little ridiculous.
Grandkids loved the zip line best. Birds are huge, do not leave food unattended.
