Just had a first visit with my kitten, Cleo, and I was very happy with the treatment we received. Vet was lovely. very gentle and attentive, and explained step by step what she was doing and why. They made my kitten feel safe in an unfamiliar environment. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Cataraqui Pet Hospital is terrific! My dog gets great care there. The staff takes every pet problem seriously and is always friendly and helpful. They carefully explain my dog's vet care to me and I always leave feeling reassured and happy. Kudos to them for the difficult work they do
Words can’t even begin to describe how incredible this vet hospital was for our precious Ladybird. Lady wasn’t even a client with the Cataraqui Pet Hospital, but the compassion, kindness and love felt with this hospital was immediate! I called them over half a dozen times in a few hours my current vets didn’t answer their phone, sent an email and always heard a response back! The phone was always answered, they communicated with me way more than any other vets I’ve been too. They were 30 mins behind their original appointment times, and when I told them about Lady’s worsening condition, they told me to bring her in, no questions asked. When we arrived our precious Lady lost her battle. The clinic closed down for those few hours we were there. They gave us a room, wrapped her in a blanket and were nothing but amazing when it came to talking about what could’ve happened to Lady. They didn’t know me or my husband or lady, you wouldn’t have thought that for one second. I can’t express the gratitude I feel from them. Losing my dog, unexpectedly at that, was one of the most traumatic things I will ever experience. Having said that with the vets and staff at the Cataraqui Pet Hospital, made one of the worst days of my life a bit more manageable. They aren’t just a pet hospital they are a sanctuary! They not only care about the physical well being of your dog but the emotional and mental well being of them too. That also goes for the parents bringing their fur babies in. I never thought we would find a vet clinic so amazing! Thank you again!!
The staff are always great to deal with but I especially want to give a shout out to Dr. Lawless. She is an amazing vet and we are lucky to have found her to look after our best buddy the last couple years. She is an asset to Cataraqui Pet Hospital and any patients she treats are in great hands.
Having had good service in the past I took my ageing dog with stiff and sore hips to Cataraqui Pet Hospital. I was angered and shocked at the terrible service I received. Total scammers! I arrived 15 mins early for my appointment. The secretary said she would “get me right in”. Well, I did not get in to see the doctor until 20 minutes after my appointment time. The doctor did not even tell me her name and she went straight to the computer across the room from my cowering baby. She began asking questions as she began to upsell me for further vaccines, shots, tick meds in the winter, bloodwork, and dog food. I stopped her part way through to ask the cost. By that time is was nearly $500. I told her that I couldn’t possibly afford that. I told her I had $150 on me and maybe about $100 on my credit card. After more grappling and me saying no to multiple upsells. We settled on an exam and a test for Lyme disease. Finally, the doctor approached my petrified pooch briefly, before getting a helper to hold her still. After watching them dance around my dog for a bit I offered that if they would feel safer they could muzzle her. Which they did. They were so nervous that my dog was acting unusually afraid, mirroring their fear. The doctor listened to her heart, felt her glands, stretched out her front and back legs. Then they left the room to fetch another staff member to draw blood and left her with the muzzle on, which caused my dog to panic. So I had to remove the muzzle. The doctor and two others came in and asked me to leave the room. I’m no crazy pet person either. I spent three years working at a pet hospital. Which is how I knew she was up selling me services and products I didn’t need or want. Remember we came in because my dog’s back hips were sore and stiff. Finally, it was time to pay and after waiting for one of two less-than-clever secretaries to finish my bill, the doctor came out and tried to upsell me one more time with a special diet food. The moral of this story: Beware. Educate yourself about pet care and don’t get scammed by these guys. $270 later they didn’t even trim her nails! Avoid Dr. Jacquline Cote
On Friday, I called this clinic at 5:50pm letting them know that I was on my way to pick up my cats food & medicine that had been arranged for pick up that day. I also advised the clinic that I was driving in from where we live, an hour away but was going to be 5 min late. I was put on hold, then advised “no one will be here at 6:05pm”. I arrived at the clinic doors at 6:04pm to find 3 staff still in the clinic, one of the clinic staff helping a customer. The door to the clinic was locked, it was obvious that I was standing at their door but was put on ignore. I tried calling the clinic but they ignored the call. This is unacceptable.
Dr. Cote was amazing with my German Shepherd. She s very nervous with new people, but Dr. Cote was very patient with her. Absolutely amazing!!
We have been coming for years. Everyone is super friendly and our pets have had the best care.
The staff here are great and they treat our beloved Ferdinand with respect. Prices are fair considering the cost of running a business nowadays.
The company is completely unprofessional and lack integrity. They hold no accountability. They claim to pride themselves that their patient and client care is their “top priority”. This is definitely untrue. Although my pets attended this clinic, the owner also owns the groomers Are you a Dirty Dog next door. I had not spoken to this vet clinic in a year, however I took issue with the groomers on April 20, 2022. If you dare question their prices after a service has been rendered, especially after having gone there for years, and were told the total amount over the phone. Then you get there and they try to overcharge you by $40 because they had switched over their computer program and dont know how to apply the discount pricing without a manager’s approval who is not available for another week, is completely absurd. Attitude is give us the additional money now and we will deduct it in two months at your next grooming session, without consideration of clients constraints. Then the junior staff send you on a wild goose chase advising to call the other location in Amherstview , seeking to discuss issue further with assistant manager who is working at that location on that day, only to find out that she was not even working. When no management is available for a week and they refuse to return your call to discuss the issue, and instead accuse you of being verbally abusive for questioning their quality of service, is completely defamatory, and as such, they should guard themselves accordingly. Beware, owner, as well as management Ashley McGrath- program manager doesn’t care what your concerns are, your service is simply terminated at both locations in Kingston. Manager and owner lack the ability to address issues and prefer to resort to avoidance tactics, while defaming you in the process via email. No one should tolerate this lack of professionalism. They do not value their customers.
