Cate's Corner is a home available for multiple types of events. From quilting and scrapbooking parties to weddings, this lovingly restored 1880's home makes the perfect setting for your event.
Restoration: The house is best known as the former James and Edna Clayton home and was built more a century ago. It was originally a 161 acre dariy farm. After many years, the house fell into disrepair.
After restoration, there is a large new kitchen, dining area, four bedrooms and three and one-half baths. There are four original fireplaces with original mantles and tile. Two of them have gas logs and add a coziness to the rooms. Except for the kitchen and baths, which have tiled floors, the original hardwood floors in the rest of the home were sanded and refinished.
Several of the rooms have original bead board on the ceiling, which was sanded and restored. The master bedroom and bath has a soaking tub, dual vanity, and a separate shower.
The home is appointed with a tasteful blend of antique furniture, mixed with comfortable leather chairs and sofas so that people can relax in the living room.
A Family Heritage: The name Cate's Corner came from a family tradition. The name "Cate" has been passed through the family for 3 generations.
Each room in the house is named after a significant family member who influenced the owners lives.
