If you enjoy planes especially war planes, give this museum a stop. It has a good collection for a smaller/regional sized museum. There are four hangers with a few outside planes of various time frames. It has definitely seen better days though and could use some updates and cleaning up. I’m not sure if it was the pandemic or a falloff in volunteers but it is definitely not as polished or tidy as the last time we went a few years ago.
A must visit for the Aviation enthusiasts. But this museum current timing10AM-4PM sucks. Who would want to step out in Texas in the mid summer under scorching sun. I heard they're moving this museum to different city. So whoever wish to see this place go and experience the good old fighter planes vibe. It would be amazing and a crowd puller if this opens 4PM-10PM.
Medium sized museam. Planes looked really good and well kept. There are 4 hangers to look through and easy to get to. Only thing that's bad is they are only open on weekends.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
Thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Witnessing history through my own eyes. They were only accepting cash though, had to go back to my truck to look for changes. So be mindful of that incase they haven't fixed their card reader.Wait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$21–30
The Cavanaugh Flight Museum is a remarkable destination for those interested in history and aviation. The museum boasts an impressive collection of vintage planes, meticulously preserved and presented for visitors to admire. The museum houses a variety of aircraft, every plane in the collection is accompanied by detailed information about its history, making it easy for visitors to fully appreciate the significance of each aircraft. One of the standout features of the museum is the level of detail put into the exhibits. In addition to the planes, the museum offers a range of other interesting exhibits, including an extensive collection of aviation art and artifacts. Overall, the Cavanaugh Flight Museum is a good place for anyone with an interest in aviation or history. With its impressive collection of vintage planes and engaging exhibits, it offers a unique and informative experience for visitors of all ages.
Nice selection of older war and recreational planes. The WW2 planes are in very good condition. Expect to spend about an hour or so at the museum. There is no air conditioning in the airplane hangers. Everything is wheel chair accessible.
beautiful planes took a trip here with my daughter for the weekend very interesting history. the biggest shocker was the sheer size of some of these. worth it 100% if you are thinking about going here. staff is very friendly and knowledgable ++Visited onWeekendWait timeNo wait
Incredible museum! A must see that has a gift store and art gallery. There are 3 outdoor hangars with various aircraft displayed from the ceilings and anchored to the floor. Plan on being there for a while. Information is provided on each plane.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$11–15
I really liked this museum. There are several hangers to see and plenty of big planes to see... I wish the little gift shop had some postcards and a little more variety of museum branded gifts. Other than that, its great
My 3 year old son and I had a good time. It will be a bit hot if you go during the summer.
