The Fine Arts Program reflects the philosophy that students achieve their best when developing creative, analytical and technical skills simultaneously. At Cecil, art instruction is based in traditional and contemporary approaches to specific disciplines
and encourages participation in group art exhibits. Foundation courses provide exposure to exemplary artists from a variety of cultures and historic periods. Courses also supply the vocabulary and technical skills to promote confidence in the pursuit of advanced, specialized courses and the development of individual artistic visions.
To prepare students for transfer to four-year colleges, initial employment, or career advancement in the following areas: graphic design, ceramics, art education, art administration, fine arts production, exhibition and sales.
