My mom has been there for 2 weeks after being in the hospital for a week. The staff is very good. They are constantly calling and updating me on everything....her meds, her therapy, and her general well being. I really appreciate everything they are doing for mom.
The best volunteer at a beauty salon and activities to transport residents having a hair appointment of a day and activities when I need help transport residents. I’m so happy to be part of Cedarbrook volunteer team.
I had my mother in this place during covid. The nurses and certified nursing assistant work great. It's a shame they're so short staffed. Administration just criticizes the workers instead of getting them help. Especially Donna Pendrick I saw with my own eyes she nitpicks on all the workers. Maybe she should get her hands dirty too like those on the floors that are working so hard to take care of the residents and my mother. I understand that there is going to be a mandate on covid vaccinations... Very sad to hear that Cedar Brooke is going to lose alot of very qualified people. No one should be told what to put in their bodies. These people made it this far into this so called pandemic.. let them decide for them selves.. we are all going to regret losing such wonderful people.
This nursing home gives minimal car to the residents. When patients are on a pureed diet with thickened liquids. Little to no training is done to teach nursing staff and aids how that needs to be done in a correct manor. Also, when patients are dealing with dementia good training needs to be done with nursing staff and aids on how to deal with these types of patients. I have not seen physical abuse at this facility; but, I have witnessed verbal abuse. Again, training of staff is so important on how a patient needs to be treated and what is considered abuse when nursing staff and aids interact with dementia patients. I have also come into my brothers room and found an over-powering smell of urine. What was sad was he had just been served breakfast under these horrible conditions. I have come into his room at noon and found again the strong smell of urine, his bed not changed or made up, I found him in the dining that day and he had a bad smell about him. Many of his personal items have gone missing. They were not expensive items; but, some had great sentimental value to him and the family. It is so discouraged to see how nursing home facilities often treat the very weak of our society. They have no voice, other than family trying to get better care for these patients. I know funding is a major issue and they get what society is willing to contribute. Cedarbrook is in very bad disrepair, also. The place is very depressing to visit. I have not seen things improve under Good Shepherd managing it; if anything, things have gotten worse.
MINUS 5 STARS !! HORRIBLE PLACE !!! DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVE ONES IN THAT PLACE !! My aunt died from that place !! My aunt went in there after a 2 week hospital stay for some rehab. She could walk, talk, feed herself, toilet herself, shower, dress herself and in 10 months she was completely bedridden !! Found out they had heavily medicated her during COVID. Dr Valarde said to me " we don't have enough staff to do one on one care !!" My aunt went down hill because she couldn't eat or walk because of being overly medicated. We tried to get her out and get her moved to another facility but Cedarbrook labeled her with "behavior problems" then no other facility wanted her. We were working on bringing her back home when we got a call saying she wasn't doing well. Cedarbrook asked us if we wanted to "bring her home" and I said, NO, TAKE HER TO THE ER !! CEDARBROOK claims her heart rate was "normal" but the paramedics said that her heart rate was only 20 in the ambulance and had to bag her to get to the ER.!! Once in LVH, the surgeon who did the CAT scan said her bowels were severally impacted, so impacted all the way up her bowels. She had severe gastric distention and made her TOXIC !!! SHE DIED THE NEXT DAY!! She was 84 lbs !!! The surgeon cleaned out the bowels and said she hadn't had a bowel movement in a very long time. I called Cedarbrook and they said "yes, she was having regular bowel movements" I told the surgeon what Cedarbrook said and he said, "NO WAY !!" So CEDARBROOK LIES !! FALSIFIES PAPERWORK!! STAFF COVERS EACH OTHER LIES, OVER MEDICATE PATIENTS SO THEY DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THEM!!! HORRIBLE PLACE !!
Cedarbrook is such a wonderful place for all ages. I am extremely you g to be here but it was the best decision that they had to put me here. I have a condition where my nerves in my legs are not working as they should be, but I was sent here after my hospital stay and it has been such a fantastic stay here. All of the activities keep me out of my room and I always love spending time with the residents. I don’t ever want to leave but I know if the future that my stay is going to come to an end. But I give Cedarbrook five stars and I recommend sending Elders here, they will have the time of their lives.
Try minus 5 stars! My mother was only supposed to be there for physical therapy after a hospital stay. They never gave her the clean clothes I brought, made her keep her bed practically to the floor. AND left a UTI untreated which lead to sepsis and delirium! The only thing done right was finally getting her to a hospital. Before this happened She told me how rude and snobby the nurses were to the elderly patients especially the ones unable to stand up to them. I find this beyond sad and it majes me very angry!
Turn away from this facility. I had a family member here that was not treated with care and compassion. The meds that were prescribed here added to much confusion of the mind. There was evidence of bruising on various parts of the body due to cruel treatment. Charges were filed. Very difficult to know what's happening at this facility because there is no visitors allowed due to Covid-19. Doesn't seem to have any accountbility here. This family member has been relocated and is now of clear mind and doing much better.
Horrible place!! Administration doesn't care. For the patients nor the workers. They don't even talk to the patients.. my mother is there and she tried to telll jason about her sink leaking he didn't care to get someone to fix it.
Love cedarbrook! My mom is so happy and loves it there!I absolutely love all the staff!Mom does so many activities ,trips,I hardly find her in her room!!!Thank you so much for making my mom happy and treating her and family so well!!I spend a lot of time there and see how great they treat ALL the residents! They are constantly on the move..they never seem to sit for 5 minutes! So much hard work..they are always smiling and there to answer any questions! If I am ever to be placed in a Care Center ..I definitely would want to go here!!
