What is WBC?
Whole Body Cryotherapy was developed in Japan in its current form by Dr. Toshima Yamaguchi in 1978 to treat rheumatoid arthritis. Within several years, the medical community recognized WBC’s benefits beyond treating arthritis and began using WBC more broadly to treat chronic pain, soft tissue pain, inflammation, improved sleep, increased energy and alertness, fibromyalgia, psoriasis, increase metabolism, athletic recovery and more!
WBC takes 1.5 - 3mins and is a completely dry process. Because dry cold does not penetrate the body like cold air with moisture, WBC temperatures are able to be colder than what would be possible on a normal winter day without the extreme discomfort. Exiting the Cryo machine your body instantly warms and vasodilation begins, sending the oxygenated and nutritious blood back out to the body’s periphery. This process provides the body with extra nutrients, rids the body of toxins, produces collagen and activates the body’s natural cell regeneration cycle to produce newer, healthier cells. The end results: a reduction in discomfort & pain in areas of inflammation.
