The Center for Law, Energy & the Environment channels the expertise of the Berkeley Law community to solve today’s urgent environmental and energy problems
The Center for Law, Energy & the Environment (CLEE) at Berkeley Law develops policy solutions to the most pressing environmental and energy issues at the state, local, and national levels.
CLEE plays a direct role in advancing environmental policy and regularly convenes government leaders, academics, legal practitioners, businesses, and non-profits.
CLEE's expertise includes climate change, renewable energy, water conservation, land use, and sustainable urban design.
CLEE was established in 2006 to oversee and expand Berkeley Law’s nationally renowned Environmental Law Program. It developed the nation’s first comprehensive courses in climate change and renewable energy law and policy, and continues to enhance opportunities for students, alumni, and the wider environmental and energy community.
