My intention is that you will find a place of relaxation, hope and healing here. Reiki is a beautiful, peaceful, amazing path to relaxation and mind/body/spirit health.
Imagine your muscles unwinding, your nervous system feeling safe, relaxing, opening; your mind quieting; your Spirit grounded and soaring, your Body at peace to heal; and your Spirit feeling Connected. Many people describe experiencing reconnecting with a deep inner Peace, and Resources.
Reiki knows no bounds to help, and has never reported causing any harm. There are countless ways Reiki supports in health and healing body, mind and soul. Reiki's Source is beautiful and unlimited. Reiki comes from the Japanese words Rei, meaning Universal Life Force; and Ki, meaning Energy and Light (like Qi or Chi from the Chinese language).

Reiki also promotes psychological and emotional healing, including release of anger, fear, worry, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, sadness, as well as habits that are no longer healthy, such as addictions, and traumas where we can find a place of Peace and release.
Reiki promotes deep healing and support in matters of the heart and soul, in many spectrums: in loss and grief, death and dying, caregiving, trying to "make sense of it all", integrating and adjusting to Life, meaning and purpose, growing and finding new Life as ready and unfolds.
Reiki is quite supportive in finding peace and harmony in relationship issues, including creative space within us to perceive differently what we might not have seen before, or guidance and courage for an action, or patience...and other attributes that bring more happiness, harmony and healthy growth to our inner relationship as well and with loved ones, friends, co-workers, and...those we are challenged with. Reiki often promotes a deepening of our relationship to Life, Nature, our surroundings, Guidance, help and support through challenges, actions, decisions and finding Peace and Resources needed along the way.
And Reiki is subtly profound. Reiki is not religious or tied to any religion or belief system. There is no dogma. Reiki promotes Spiritual healing and growth, often with a sense of feeling effortlessly, consciously Connected, deeply Safe and Nourished beyond words to describe.
What is a session like?
Reiki is administered through the hands of a trained Reiki Practitioner, with the Client lying fully clothed on a padded, comfortable Reiki/massage table, or chair if that's more comfortable. There is usually relaxing music playing in the background. A session usually lasts about an hour, to an hour and a half, and shorter sessions are available as well. The Reiki practitioner will gently rest their hands upon the Client, non-intrusively, or hold their hand slightly above the Client, in a series of positions from the crown of the Client's head to the feet. Reiki Energy/Light flows from the Practitioner's hand and into the Client's body and Energy/Light field. This can release stress, soothe pain, and promote the Body's natural ability to heal itself. It is usually a very relaxing experience. A Reiki session feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that surrounds and fills the Client and includes feelings of relaxation, Peace and well-being that also promote healing.

Janice has a lifetime of love, study, openness and passion about how our spiritual and human selves are interrelated. Janice is a Certified Reiki Master and Teacher from the Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki lineage and has trained with gifted Certified Reiki Masters. Prior to becoming a Reiki Master, Janice received her License in Social Work in 1996, and her Certificate of Residency in Clinical Pastoral Education in 1999 from Cleveland Clinic Foundation as well as the Veteran's Administration. She feels privileged to have been a Spiritual Caregiver at Hospice of the Western Reserve for 19 years. Janice has worked with clients, patients and their loved ones with mild to severe health, emotional, spiritual and relationship issues. Janice is a member of the International Center for Reiki Training, and is a Volunteer Practitioner at the Reiki Clinic at Ursuline Academy. She enjoys and benefits practicing self-Reiki daily.
Janice loves the gentle yet powerful, relaxing, healing nature of Reiki for mind, body and spirit. She calls Reiki healing a beautiful path to help others feel better, manage stress, anxiety, pain and loss in a soothing, nurturing and safe atmosphere. Janice is peacefully passionate about helping people to reach and continue in optimal health and wellness in all areas of life.
