The mission of the Civil War Center is to provide quality programming and resources that enable scholars, students, and enthusiasts to study the causes, nature and outcomes of the conflict, as well as the role that Georgia and the South played in this nation's greatest calamity. Through a diverse offering of programs and public outreach, the Center offers opportunities for the examination of the Civil War era, a period still studied closely and enthusiastically by citizens around the country and beyond, not only for its importance to the past but also for its relevance to the present and future.
