We are the local health department for the towns of Berlin, Newington, Rocky Hill and Wethersfield.
We are here to serve YOU! The Central Connecticut Health District (CCHD) strives to provide the best quality service for our residents. Our main office is located in the Wethersfield Town Hall and we have satellite offices in Berlin, Newington and Rocky Hill.
Our services cover three aspects of public health: Environmental Health, Community Health and Emergency Preparedness.
Our Environmental Health Staff inspect your favorite restaurants, your local nail and hair salons, and the pool that you take your children to in the summer to cool off. Did you go out to eat recently and are suddenly feeling ill? We work hard to investigate and uncover the source of the problem.
When it comes to an emergency, are YOU prepared? Our Emergency Preparedness staff teams up with local law enforcement and State workers to train and equip our towns to be ready for any kind of unexpected event.
Our Community Health Staff work to obtain grants to implement programs that serve you. From free vegetable gardening classes and free dental cleanings for seniors, we strive to provide you with classes that you will benefit from.
Are you unsure if we provide a service that is not mentioned here? Feel free to call us at (860) 721-2822.
