Museum archive and publisher dedicated to preserving Art Nouveau, Symbolism, Expressionism, Cabaret,
and Theater Art 1880-1920. Exploring the origins of Popular Culture. Est. 1999.
Century Guild was founded as a fine art gallery in 1999 with specific attention to the art movements of Art Nouveau and Symbolism.
After over a decade as purveyors of fine antiques, Century Guild can boast a world-class clientele of museum level collectors, celebrities, and- above all else- art lovers. At Century Guild we believe that understanding the historical context of an artwork is integral to its appreciation, and enjoy educating our clients to make living with fine art as rewarding intellectually as it is aesthetically. From sinister espionage during the Middle Ages through the volatile politics of the Industrial Revolution, from the blossoming of Art Nouveau through the climate of excess at the end of the First World War, the finest objets d’art of the era tell tales of frenetic passion and macabre debaucheries if we know how to listen.
Our antique inventory specializes in Art Nouveau and Symbolist works from Germany, Austria, France and Italy 1880-1920, and includes the lithography of significant artists such as Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Walter Schnackenberg, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Ludwig Hohlwein. We offer museum quality examples of Art Nouveau, Amphora and Massier pottery, important Symbolist Art lithographs by artists including Alphonse Mucha and Carlos Schwabe, and artifacts from the golden eras of Silent Film and Munich and Berlin Cabaret.
Century Guild also focuses its attention on creating boutique art books in limited editions with the utmost attention to detail and using the highest quality materials. Contemporary artists published include Jeremy Bastian, David Mack, and the definitive monographs on the art of Clive Barker, Michael Hussar, Steve Diet Goedde, and Gail Potocki.
