Okay - so i am moving in here today. But i want to express my sincere gratitude to Cindy and Sydney who were simply amazing in helping me set up with the apartment in super quick time after another prominent apartment community in the area left me homeless for a week due to a maintenance issue in the apartment i was supposed to move in. Thank you for being responsive and helpful guys. Appreciate it.
Unfortunately, I renewed my lease for the next year, and not because I wanted to or like the apartments, but because I couldn't spare the time to look for a new place. I know this will be my last year at CPP. I don't know what this community is becoming, but I'm impatiently waiting to move. Kids from another apartment complex down the road use the pool and are extremely noisy, paper thin walls, trash compactor area always overflowing with trash and all over the ground, smoke detectors going off because they're beyond the inspection/replacement date - - the Durham Fire Dept was called due to the detector not disabling, and they've instructed that I'd contact management to advise they should replace the detectors in all buildings, and they haven't responded to my voicemail which it's probably a month now... So my room does not have a smoke detector in it ‍ Oh, and the spiders and earwigs are insane - they use a very cheap pest control company so good luck if you're on the bottom floor. I'm just over annoyed with this place... Paying $1700/month for a one bedroom should provide you a lot better amenities, management, a clean and quiet property, etc.
Shout out to Catherine, she is super nice and down to earth person. She was very informative and assisted me the best she could in efforts to find an upgraded unit within the property. I enjoyed her company. I have lived here almost over 2 years going on 3 and I love the quiet community and the spacious layout.
Staff was rude! They denied our application after stating our paystubs were fraudulent when we pulled them directly from our work website and we meet income requirements as we make $140,000. I even went into the office to try to resolve and Cindy was very condescending and didn't care even after I tried explaining that they requesting my work/income verification from "Sysco" and not my actual employer which is "Cisco". I saw a comment a week ago mentioning they got denied due to discrimination and it looks like that may be the case here as well!! Waste of $150 on our application fees to get denied for no reason! Hopefully they get some better management!
I see someone else had problems proving their income. I honestly thought this couldn’t be me. I haven’t received paper paystubs since the pandemic and provided the company’s paystub that I could pull online from the company’s website where I work at. That got flagged, and they wouldn’t let me provide any other proof of income which to me is so weird because I have compensation letters and bank statements that could corroborate the paystub I provided. I could also provide official letter of employment from the company. I understand if my paystub looks out of the ordinary but there are so many ways of proving my salary and place of employment. I disregarded all the negative reviews about this place because I really liked one of the 1BD floor plan. But, now I really feel that there’s something fishy going on with the management at this place.
I love it here, but they tried to steal my car in the parking and the damage is going to cost me $500. I was getting the idea that it was a safe place to live. I have been here only 3 months now I'm worried about my other car.
I think this place is great and I would renew my lease if my job hasn't moved, but the reason I believe it doesn't deserve 5 stars is there are just a handful of minor issues I had, which I expect to happen everywhere but how one in particular that suck out kept it from being a 5. However, I did really enjoyed living here and would recommend. Con that stuck out the most: AC went out one Saturday night which is the worst possible time for your AC to go, because you'll be without AC until Monday but the maintenance guy I called during emergency hours very rudely told me this. Cons: Upon move in, my apartment had some deficiencies, but they were able to get the issues resolved within 3 days. My kitchen sink faucet wouldn't rotate and there mold on the caulk between the bathtub and floor. Required to remove, spackle, and sand my drywall anchor holes upon move out or I would be charged Most up-front fees I've had to pay in any community I've lived in. Neutrals: Can hear my upstairs neighbors flush all the time and walk around, but nothing too bad. Construction and explosions for the neighboring community currently being built! This only happens during working hours though. Issues with weed smokers, but management seemed to do a good job of getting that taken care of. Pros: Very quiet community even with 540 next door and after construction hours Decent pool/amenities Lots of Parking Lots of storage! Pool open all year as the community is in Durham County Friendly staff Lease was reasonably priced when I applied Easy access to Brier Creek shopping, I-40 and I-540/takes 15 minutes to get to Durham and 25 to get to Raleigh
Catherine Has a nasty attitude! She told me if i had an issue to contact corporate WHICH IT WOULD ONLY BE RIGHT. Nobody answers the phone or returns emails. Got denied due to income when my husband made anywhere between 1500-1800 a week! I smell discrimination in the air and am taking the necessary steps to SOLVE THAT MATTER!
That area with grill, TV and fireplace was a big selling point. Coming after work, I went there to grill and relax. Occasionally I found it locked without any notice but group of people was there, they just jumped over the fence. Im really upset to pay for "luxury" place, that have an area where I can't even go, and where usually nothing works. TV is broken, fireplace for an almost a year I'm living here wasn't working, car service area vacuum never worked. My garage flooding with about 2 inches of water every storm, I have just promises to fix it next month for almost a year. Place is messed up, not worth what I'm paying for it. It's not even close to luxury. Almost everything have some issue and it can't be solved forever. Feels like new management trying to run place as cheap as possible. I'm really upset about decision to move here. Yeah, looking on others review - wall insulation is very weak and I agree on other one star reviews.
This place isn't worth the money, it's a quiet neighborhood but the office staff took a dive when the new managers came in! I loved Dominic, the old manager. But the office is not responsive via calls or emails. We pay for pest control and they never come out. The parking spaces are so tiny that my new car has over 100 dings thus far. I wish I would not have resigned my lease. They have recently implemented towing which is insane because they do not provide you with badges or stickers for your vehicle. The pool area is never clean, grills are filthy and the trash is always overflowing! I would definitely reconsider living here if you have the opportunity especially for 1700$ a month, just not worth it. There are so many new appts in the area that are cheaper and much nicer.
