Chandler Museum

About

The Chandler Museum features local history resources, exhibits, and programs at the McCullough-Price House, Tumbleweed Ranch, and online at Chandlerpedia.

Description

The Chandler Museum is closed during the construction of our new museum. Check out our programs at other sites in the meantime and stay tuned for our late 2018 grand opening!

The Chandler Museum is an innovative learning environment where the community comes together to share our stories, store our cultural heritage and experience Chandler as a people and place. The vision of the Museum is to be the community’s principal resource to explore its people’s history, culture, and their place in the rapidly changing world of today.

The Chandler Museum is a division of the Community Services Department in the City of Chandler. The museum can be found throughout the community, but its main three sites include the historic McCullough-Price House, Tumbleweed Ranch, and ChandlerpediA, an online resource.

"The Chandler Museum is a cultural destination unlike any other with engaging, community-focused programs and forums, as well as world-class traveling exhibits. Tuesday - Saturday 10 am - 5 pm Sunday 1 - 5 pm"

A cute little Museum near Chandler Fashion Center. Not much to do inside for the kids tho. There is a scavenger hunt for the kids and I truly think the scavenger hunt made it bearable for my 7 year old who is used to museums geared towards kids. I'd visit again without kids. They do have children events there at certain times during the year.
This museum opens 8am and close 5pm on weekdays. You do not need any appointment before you go. You do not need to pay before you enter but you can buy some of their artworks in form of shirts, key holder and the likes. If you need to know about the history of Arizona, then visit this place and you will not regret you did. They also have this beautiful aloe vera plant around. It has a good view and a rich history of the area. You can take pictures and you also have some games to play with while you're there.
What an amazing local gem we have here! Exhibits were great. Although, small, it was perfect for a quick afternoon stroll for children's attention spans. The service and personnel here were AMAZING! Very helpful and informative. Cute little shop with AZ trinkets and gifts. How did I not know of this place before? Definitely coming back again!
The museum is free. Small but a good size for a trip. We love the classes they offer for kids.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitPrice for adult entryFree
Very nice facility and enjoyed the exhibit I saw. Learned a great deal about the history of Chandler during the depression and it’s place during the Dust Bowl migration.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Wonderful place full of photos and exhibits from the dust bowl days. Only got to see part today going back again, they have so much to offer. Also it's FREE.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitPrice for adult entryFree
This is such a beautiful museum. They have an adorable gift shop and very intriguing exhibits, Lizzie at the front is so kind and helpful. I can’t wait to come back and see more exhibits!
Awesome place to spend some time learning about the history of Phoenix, the larger Phoenix metropolitan area, as well as Chandler. Many special exhibits on display when I went including an exhibit all about boxing and Muhammad Ali. Also reminded of Waymo’s self driving taxi service from a special plaque on the wall. Even got to ride on one since this museum is within the coverage area.
We enjoyed a free, knowledgeable, and informative tour of this new museum. We came away with a good understanding of Chandler history. The exhibit on the internment of Japanese American citizens during WWII is well-done and worth exploring. We also enjoyed the artworks derived from ordinary objects.
The Chandler Museum is small but very well put together. When we visited they had an exhibit on Chandler’s own boxer Zora Foley, a Day of the Dead exhibit, and local and National photos from Dorothea Lange of the famous dust bowl photos. If you have children check out their to go art boxes. They have at-home activities and supplies on one of their current exhibits. When we visited they had Frank Lloyd Wright and Day of the Dead
