I love Chapman Branch Library. It was my 1st job in 1973 thru the Manpower program as a Librarian assistant and I would walk after school from Hare Jr. High school which was only a couple of yards from school after school and I worked 2 hrs a day and in the summer when school was out I’d work 4 hrs a day 5 days a week. I sure miss them days. I worked from 1973 to 1975 until we moved to Santa Ana, California. I loved dusting the records off so people can check them out and filed the books back in their space when they was returned. This is where I learned to file alphabetically and has helped me since. Best staff and library this side of creation. My name back then was Lawana Byrd. 13 yrs old back then. I miss you all ‍ ‍ ‍ ‍
Great customer service yet no quiet due to children being there for some class hosted by librarians.
Quaint library. Library and staff are nice. They have cute events with science and other things throughout the year, and the Halloween one is so adorable! Cute story times. I removed stars only because there are alot of creepy people, in the parking lot and by the computers, where the self-check out is, talking to the little kids and my son. My son's always with me, but sometimes the other kids are walking around. Observed this happen a few times. Upsetting because the library is for everyone, regardless of who they are, but why can't they leave the kids alone?
They're so wonderful there I got the help I needed I'm truly grateful that our Public Library is there and to Miss Julia Butler = I sincerely appreciate the wonderful experience and help I received today from staff and you thank you again very much
Very small Branch but they have just about every book you can want to read especially for children, Front entrance to the left of it has park which there are a lot of homeless living in there car's and other. Yet they have a calm area here, feel bad they are homeless but maybe some one reading this can help, at least one person a day to get out of that situation, I am but one man and I am going through my own hard ship but I try to help others in direr need. Thanks
