I had the displeasure of having my first and last appointment with Dr. Ranjan Rakesh on June 2, 2014. I was told during my first phone call that my appointment was at 10:45. When I arrived, the office was quite drab and unwelcoming. There were about five other people in the waiting area where I was filling out paperwork. I overheard them complaining about Dr. Ranjan’s services and the lack of care they get. I did not get into the doctor’s office until 11:50. I had asked why it was taking so long and I was told that new patients are advised to come ½ hour early to fill out paperwork. I was not told this during my phone call. When I finally got into the doctor’s office, Dr. Ranjan did not make me feel welcome at all. He did not smile, shake my hand or say anything that made me feel comfortable. He started to ask me questions but I did not get to explain much because there was another lady who kept coming into the office and asking him about another patient’s meds. Every time I would start to talk again, the doctor’s phone would ring and he’d get up and walk out of the room to answer it. I stopped counting the sixth time he left the office. Each time he came back in I had to try and pick up where I was interrupted. And even then, his phone was going off constantly and the other doctor continued to call him. This is surely not the way I had expected my appointment to go. He did not seem to care about my needs and had no bedside manner at all. I could not believe that he kept leaving me in the office! He did not even excuse himself; he just kept getting up and leaving. This is an unacceptable way to treat patients. I felt like I was interfering with everything else he had going on. I will never go there again. I have never in my entire life been treated like this in what is supposed to be a professional establishment. I felt uncomfortable and unimportant to the person who was going to be my new doctor. I would never recommend him for any type of services at all. My entire visit lasted over two hours and I left disappointed and a little upset that I was so unimportant as a patient that he couldn’t take the time to concentrate on me for less than 30 seconds at a time. The entire experience was ridiculous and I would implore anyone who would be thinking of going to see this doctor to think twice.
