Very happy with my experience at American Self Storage. They are under new management and no one was on-site at the location I rented, but all arrangements made over the phone were so helpful, friendly and accommodating. I recommend highly!

Judy and Bill are two of the kindest and attentive proprietor’s you are bound to meet! They are accommodating and are excellent communicators when it comes to questions, concerns, and billing. They have a variety of spaces and will help you figure out what best suits your needs in that regard. They are not a chain and offer reasonable prices with a more cared for neighborly touch than you would get from other competitors in the area. Our items where kept clean and secure, with no issues. Aside from a storage unit we also stored our 19ft boat here, again with no issues. Would use them again in the future if needed.
I used Catharidge a little less than 2 years ago and had absolutely no problems. This place is a family business and the couple was so nice when I went to pay them. We actually had a nice conversation for a little while. There were no signs of rodents in my unit. I used one of the outdoor units for about 3 months and everything was in perfect condition upon returning. The two reviews complaining about rodents have the same last name and are clearly a single couple with a bad experience that are trying to bring down the rating of this family business. I would definitely recommend this place and will be using it again in the future!
I've rented three units -- one climate-controlled, two not -- for ten years now and have never had any sort of problem. There have certainly been no rats. The owners are a pleasure to deal with.
I was worried about using Chatharidge after seeing reviews about rodents, but the place is SPOTLESS. I can honestly say this is the cleanest, best managed place I've every used. Just to be sure, I put down some rodent traps and after a year, not one of them have been touched. Also, this isn't some corporate chain, this is a family business and the difference in service is wonderful! The staff are super sweet, flexible and eager to please!
We rented a unit here for several months. All was nice and polite, our items were safe, I can say that for sure. Like the other reviews say, gate with code, fence...then it came time to move our things out...everything changed. Mice had been living in our unit. The ruination was extensive. I called, stated the problem and was told our rent was to keep our things safe and dry, and there's no way to keep out mice or spiders and things, those things can get into her house too, they have someone spray...3 things here...1 the quick turn around from sugar sweet to defensive was a bit of a red flag that this wasn't the first time someone has uttered the word "mouse" in her ear. 2 there were rubber snakes laying around bringing me to the conclusion that they are aware of the problem. 3 there was a lot of mildew on many items, so I'm not so sure that DRY is what we got. Not having ever needed a unit before, I didn't realize that insurance should have been a priority. I didn't understand that even if the owners of the storage facility could care less that mice lived in your unit, urinating and defecating on most all you own, they aren't legally liable. I lost a sofa, love seat, chair, pots, pans, utensils, mattress/box, linens, lamp resin, shade, untold amount of clothing and shoes, books, and electronics. HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS!! And I got not as much as an "I'm sorry". I know this place is close by and not a bad price, but I would look somewhere else
RATS. Stay away. The other reviewers are right: the place is secure, seemingly clean and the owners are nice. But rats will urinate and defecate on all of your belongings should you leave things in one of these units. They will also chew through electrical cords and fabrics. I lost two couches, a mattress, a box spring and piles of clothes because it was all covered in rat urine. The owners become less friendly when you inquire about the rats, and say things like "you pay to keep your stuff dry and secure." We even found rubber snakes laying around the site -- the owners know there's a rat problem, don't tell customers, and their only remedial action is an attempt to scare the rats away with rubber snakes.
Great service. Got me situated with some savings for purchasing up front!
The ppl who own this Storage are very nice & will try 2 accommodate u the best they can
