Very nice park with a lot of neat amenities. There is a very nice good sized updated playground area. A skate park, a covered Pavillion available for picnics & a walking trail. There is a ball park on the other side of the parking lot. And across the street is a public pool. It's funny how different things look as we grow. I remember coming to this park when I was a kid for family reunions and swimming at the pool with my cousins. The park seemed bigger when I was little lol.. but it is a nice park with some unique features. The young ones in my family enjoyed it.
Since my phone was stolen last year when I first came to Owensboro I don't feel this park is safe. I walk by it often but try my best to not to walk thru it nor spend any amount of time there.. it is a beautiful shaded park and the baseball field adds character as does the skate ramp. My phone was very important at that time. They cought the kids that took it and I was told I would get it back but after going to the police station multiple times asking for it I finally gave up. And have still struggled to get one up n running like the one that was taken. I won't go back to the park it's self
This park is very clean. Everytime I have been there kids are playing and having a good time.
The park was clean and well kept, plenty of space to run and play, nice, sheltered picnic tables and plenty of benches in the shade for taking a break or having a picnic!
Come here to enjoy the skatepark, mostly on Sundays. I have meet a lot of amazing people here. People of all ages and doing different things. So glad this park existence. Besides the skatepark there is a large sitting area, basketball courts, baseball fields, playground, bathrooms, water fountains and a walking trail. Great place to go sledding in the winter if there’s any snow.

Chitaqua Park is a great place to take your family. There are plenty of things to keep your kids, or grandkids entertained. Complete with lots of swings & 9 slides, and merry go rounds. Not to mention , there are several baseball fields, and even a state of the art skate park.
Perfectly positioned in owensboro. Has a picnic shelter, swingset and skate park for the kiddos.
This park needs some TLC. It has seen better days. I'm a seasonal visitor and use the running trail for their hills incline and you can tell people live there seasonally. I hate to see this park not maintained. The trees are overgrown and the mowing looks horrible!
