Love the front desk aka Linda. She is always greeted me with a smile and very helpful and can’t remember the other ladies name she works nights she is also very nice. But both are so sweet and very helpful. Today like to also give a big shout out to aid name Summer she is very nice there’s others but not good with names Mrs Sandra is always so sweet she’s very hard worker and does a great job keeping the place clean Also, love the activity’s they are so much fun they really know how to make it fun for everyone. All of them are very helpful to the ones that are not able to do them no one is left out which I really like that They have such great energy and all of the patients love them. They need more staff so the ones that have been there won’t get burned out. There are way to many patients and very little staff They can’t get the quality care they deserve. I try to help as much as I can without over stepping. But they need help and maybe a raise they work really hard
Since my arrival and admission in March of 2021, the facility has seen to my needs through thorough therapy. I have had occupational and physical therapy to help me become more able to adjusted to a “new normal.” The most rewarding thing to me is participating in the activities and interacting with other patients. The entire staff is attentive to my needs and all concerns of my family. I feel safe here and understand this difficult section of my life better as I have become more acclimated to making an adjustment.
Being a patient here, care is pretty good. The pandemic had caused a shortage of various staff, but the hiring is ongoing. The care by the staff is good for the most part. The dining needs work but is improving as more people are hired. Activities for patients is superb with lots of different games, concerts, crafts and exercises to keep us occupied during the day. The new administrator is very caring and hardworking too for us.
First off, my room smelled like urine. Had to buy my own essential supplies for the the time I was there. Only stayed 3 days. Couldn’t do anymore. The food was cold, had no taste and the portions were for a child. Had to change my own sheets. The food tray table was filthy along with the bathroom. I decided to leave just after 3 days. Would never recommend this facility, even to my worst enemy.
Since my review I posted a year ago was deleted, I’m posting it again… The only good thing this place has going for it, is Chris! He has treated my mother with respect and dignity. He is a truly caring and compassionate man. Now on to the bad… Food is disgusting! Food carts are brought to each unit and if you are lucky, they will bring it to your room within the hour. When it arrives, it is ice cold and they can care less! My mother is diabetic and they continually bring her trays of whatever they want. The post menus with alternate options, but never get to order those options. A nurse instructed an aid that my mother was NPO nothing by mouth My mother called us at 8:00PM stating she didn’t get served any dinner!!!! It took me calling for her to get dinner! The nurse had the audacity to bring my mother a tray that was still sitting on the rack by the nurse’s station into her room, ICE COLD and who knows how long it had been sitting out!!! After a bit of a back and forth with the nurse, she finally offered my mother a chicken salad sandwich! Oh, I forgot to mention my mother never had a NPO order placed on her! It wasn’t until this morning that we found out, they mixed my mother up with another patient!!! Chesapeake Health & Rehabilitation Center, you made the two week hospital to home hospice transition miserable for my dying mother. It was all greetings , smiles and promises of care and respect in the front and lack of compassion, pure laziness and just not caring about patients in the back. YOU MUST DO BETTER!!! There is no excuse for this!!!!!!!
My family member is located at this facility. I love all of the fun activities they put together for the residents. Just recently, the facility celebrated the residents with an August birthday. My family and I were pleased when the facility invited us to celebrate with them.
For the most part they help my mom get back to normal again. The staff is friendly kind. They gave her lemon drink and she has thrush can happen with a low immune system…we all have it in us. The nurse male talked to us for a bit and was on top of things and gave us some good advice. Mom may be starting with dementia sadly so it was helpful. But I feel she’s in good hands as the staff are good peoples. I imagine with all the patients it’s hard to keep up with those little details. They and some bugs a guy came to spray and a few days later we didn’t see any more of them.
I have worked here for almost two years and wish this was my job my entire life. I really enjoy the interaction with the residents and their family's . The employees that I work with are awesome. I plan on staying until I can't work any more. I love getting up to go to work. L
My mom has been here for a long while. The entire staff is more like family. I stop and see her every day. I’m so pleased to see she is very well cared for. It’s always a difficult decision to make when it comes to having to place a member of your family in someone else’s care. I know I made the right decision when we chose chesapeake health and rehab. Her entire team makes sure she has everything she needs. I have built relationships with them all as well. I never question how she’s being cared for because I see it everyday
I don’t understand why these facilities don’t want to pay their employees what they are worth! The CNA’S are the ones that keep the facilities going they are the ones that care for the patients, but if you can’t take care of your employees how does any company expect to have employees that cares?!? These nursing facilities needs to pay their employees more & keep their facilities very clean to keep cockroaches & other insects out the facility & out the patients rooms! Do the right thing & pay your employees more then $17 & $18 an hour what since does it make to pay an agency way more money to hire CNA’S & Nurses to work for you, when the money you paying the agency you can pay the CNA’S you will have more happier permanent workers & your facility will run smoother & the patients will be cared for the way the should be!
