Chester Police Department

Lying, crooked, corrupt, jokers... They don't even realize when someone is aware when they are recording/broadcasting an entire non-emergency 911 response conversation by having their radio/walkie talkie mic turned on. Meanwhile it turned out to be a VERY potential 911 emergency.......and absolutely nothing was done, leaving people unsafe and unprotected and a very young child in jeopardy! Incriminating themselves!! But little do they know someone else was recording them at the same time...clowns. Absolute disgrace! And there's actually more to this story.......Hmmmmm which state or legal official should this be reported to??

Today I am very disappointed with Officer Joshua Dewees of Chester Police Department! I was stopped for a traffic violation which ended in result of me receiving two tickets. As this officer approached my vehicle he hit my car with his hand so I kindly asked if he hit my car and he agreed he did. He then asked for my information license, registration and insurance. I then asked if I may ask why I was being stopped. He said I'm being stopped for following to closely to the vehicle ahead of me. I simply told the officer I do not agree. The officer immediately said to me, "well now instead of a warning you will get a ticket for your attitude." I explained to the officer that I do not have an attitude because I asked to be informed and I simply did not agree with what I was told. As the officer went to his vehicle I started a recording because now I was definitely uncomfortable. Along with another officer at my passenger window watching me as if I committed a crime or did anything alarming, I was just uncomfortable. The officer returned with two tickets and explained what I needed to do to respond to the tickets. I asked him just to confirm I've only received these tickets because he assumed I had an attitude. He was hesitant and refused to respond. I then asked if it was because I was recording that he did not want to repeat himself. It was that question that triggered his ignorance and abuse of authority. He said he doesnt care that I'm recording and if I would have had a better attitude he has the choice to cut me a break or not. It is this type of misjudgment and treatment that creates the fear in our community to trust police officers and their judgment. I was not disrespectful by disagreeing and I complied with this officer during my stop. Its unfortunate that Officer Joshua Dewees behaved in this manner while representing a force we are encouraged to trust.

Just saw the news on NBC showing officer punching a young girl with a taser in his hand, really ? The officer couldn’t have handled the situation differently ? , you can see how hard he punched her, if that was my daughter and I was there I’d have defended by daughter. It’s now wonder this department has a 2 star rating!! If this is how you handle young people you don’t deserve even one star!!! Either get training or leave the department!!

The harassment and the rude behavior of the Chester City Police is absolutely appalling. I no longer live in Chester but my mother and father do. I was dropping off my daughter after having family movie night with my kids when I noticed something hanging on my windshield. I put my hazard light on and exited my vehicle to see what going on with my windshield. Never did I walk away and leave my car unattended. A police officer rode up and slow rolled his window down not saying anything just staring at me so I asked if I could help him after few seconds of him just glaring at me. He then asked what I was doing. I said fixing my windshield, he stared a few seconds longer then rode down to end of the block an watched me. Never offer to assist, never asking me to pull my car in a spot, never implying that what I was doing was wrong or a problem. So when I thought I fix the issue I got back in my car and proceeded to leave. The officer then followed me from 7th and Butler to Chester High School on 9th where he signaled me to pull over. Upon approaching my car the officer again was rude and mis-respresented why he was pull me over. He first said I had a headlight and brake light out. I was looking at both my headlights working on the car in front of me. He told me I could get out and see for myself but at that point I did not trust this police officer so I stayed in my vehicle. After about 20 minutes of sitting and watching the officer laugh and talk to another officer not write me a ticket or do anything pertaining to the stop. I called Chester Police department because I wanted it on record that I was exiting my vehicle to look and take pictures of these so call issues I was pulled over for. Someone there had to call the officer on the Walkie-talkie to get him to come back over and complete the ticket. This must have made the rude officer madder because now I was dealing with the other officer he was chatting with. The original officer returned to my vehicle noticed I was writing things down and he didn’t wait for me to ask for his name and badge # he just angrily said it and handed me a citation for being double parked on 7th street WOW.. so I have now been here pulled over for about 45mins with my two kids in the car witnessing the poor behavior of a Police Officer and we wonder why these kids have little respect for the men and women who took an oath to protect and serve us‍.. something has to change and it needs to start with stuff like this!

This department is sad as hell. Not to long ago today , like 45 minutes ago .I was followed by a car while jogging , I'm only 17 years old. I called for help and 6 minutes later they showed up , with a don't care attitude . Talking about " how they scared you " like I'm not even from here. Just don't caree.. it really sad...all these young girls in the new getting kidnapped and rape ..... your a police officer right ? Your job is to serve and protect. ........

My sister in law is a Chicago cop. She has a rescued beagle and a border collie she picked up from the streets.. She dogs are a red flag of a trigger happy cop that should not be on the street. She has a very evi cop who knew she loved dogs. He went out of his way to kill them, take photos and brag about it.. The same cop shot a guy in a road rage incident, the guy this sadist shot.. was an off duty cop. I feel for Chester.. they have a moraless police department..

I was pulled over by a cheese cop I have not yet met a rude police officer who right before he pulled me over he ran the stop sign the. He pulls me over because I passed him on a turn ? The officer then told me I pulled u over because how did u know I wasn't turning. I told him by law you should have put on ur turn signal by at least 1000 ft and the space was a couple of hundred. Once I told him this he flagged me jumped in my car window and said I am giving u a ticket for not having ur self belt on. My car is gps tracked and monitored so my seat belt is indeed on other wise my car does not stop going off. I would like to report this sad police department this office told me to get my liscense and registration and what not I asked can I look in my bag he said NO but still expected me to get the info he also told me I couldn't touch my phone either but I feared for me life by this cop. So I did have 911 on speed dial because of this man. How do you have a police department that you are afraid of how does that help society. These bad cops are the cops who give REAL cops a bad name. I can't trust any officer in this area!

this department is very trifling and a bunch of dirty cops stopped me and my boyfriend tazed him 2 times and tried to lie and say he pulled the gun out on the officer

On Friday, January 25th a dog fight broke out in a pick up truck when a stray jumped into the back where the owner's dog was. Apparently the officers who came to the scene, right across the street from the High School, SHOT THE DOGS! Hasn't anyone trained police officers that water breaks up a dog fight??? I am hoping that this community gets some additional training for their officers when dealing with animals so that this type of incident never happens again. This is UNACCEPTABLE.
