Chester is fantastic BUT stay clear of this bar..PROVIDENCE GINS...the barman was surly, unhelpful and very unprofessional. Ordered drinks at 10.20pm approx, spend 36+£ ... TOLD!!! to leave at 10.40! Found out he was inviting his m8s in for a 'lock in' ...refused to give name etc of his manager. STAY CLEAR PEOPLE...spend your money elsewhere.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, who gave lots of helpful advice and information for my visit to Chester. The best place to start when you visit the city. You can get tickets for attractions, at a discounted price and also some lovely Chester gifts.
The review is of the The Tudor & Stuart Tour of Chester I had an incredible opportunity of having Ms Miles Mason all for myself and my friend. We basically had a private tour of Chesters history. It was incredibly entertaining, and really interesting. I absolutely enjoyed the vast knowledge of everyday, and maybe less important historic knowledge our guide had along with more important parts of the areas history. He answered any question I threw at him. The whole tour was really interesting, funny and overall something I can recommend to anyone even slightly interested in the history of the area.
What can I say? Just one of Britain's best 'city services '! Obtained detailed information on city centres and city sites, as well as tips for special events and activities or accommodation. Highly recommended. Fantastic service! Manfred Kleimann, Kassel, Germany
The town is great I love it and it was lots of fun with museums,good places to eat and shops.

A useful tourist information centre with booklets and maps galore
We started our two-day trip to Chester here at the Visitor Information Centre. The lady we spoke with couldn’t have been more helpful. She gave us the time and the tools to make the most of our trip. We had planned to do the hop on hop off bus trip but didn’t realise you could pay a little extra to get a boat trip included. She gave us a good steer about places of interest and where to find the types of restaurants we were interest in. Very impressed!! Thank you.
Walked through the door and was jumped on straight away by a female member of staff asking me to wear a mask and then asking whether I was exempt in front of another customer. Since when were employees there to question someones exemption status and then draw attention to this by shouting it so everyone could hear.
Chester was very good for shopping at one time , but these days the city centre is just full off ,cafes, pubs, and other eatting places every few yards , its become very boring now, the choice of shops is just like any small town now,
