The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) at the University of Chicago is located at the south end of the first floor in Gates-Blake Hall. The CTL researches and educates on the best teaching practices, effective evaluation methods and innovative course design in the pursuit of its objective; the cultivation of teaching excellence in tomorrow's educators.
For graduate students, the Center offers a series of workshops and consultations that introduce students to various aspects of pedagogy and help them refine their individual teaching styles.
For faculty, the Center provides seminars and consultations to help faculty members further refine their pedagogical skills and help them teach more efficiently.
The Center also offers an archive of on-line sources for both faculty and graduate students, including “Essays on Teaching Excellence,” on-line tutorials and guides.
The Chicago Center for Teaching at the University of Chicago's mission is the development, promotion, and advancement of excellence in teaching.
