Chicago Library Portage Park Branch

We went to this library branch for the first time today, and had a great experience. The man at the desk around 5 pm on 10/19/22 was SUCH a big help and very friendly. I needed to print something last minute. I was able to use the computer and print 10 pages for free which was really nice. They seem to have a big selection of books and movies, and my kids liked it there so we'll definitely be going back soon!

Nice Library. Quiet and calm. But the security guard doesn’t stop people from taking loud, public phone calls inside. I’ve witnessed it over 3 times with over 3 people over the span of a week. It doesn’t bother me much since my headphones are almost always in, but it’s most inconsiderate to others who I see notice.

Very underrated branch, certainly my new favorite . Much easier to get to by bus than the Logan Square branch, great selection of books and the librarians are super friendly. Also love that there’s a Cermak across the street - can get all of my errands done, and the Belmont bus comes very often.

Portage park one of the a few truly beautiful and family friendly parks of Chicago the whole neighborhood is a great place to live and enjoy life and raise your children my father once told me that you can truly know how healthy a neighborhood is by how diverse the people of that neighborhood is and Portage park is truly beautiful and diverse and the people are very polite and helpful and friendly and it's a great family oriented community and I am of the house of elohim

A very fundamental every day place for all of your helpful needs between reading and researching on the computer, as well as a quiet time to spend a day.

Pretty awesome place and, when you go there enough times, they remember you and keep up with your visits and conversation/requests. Very personable. It's mostly quiet. They, and the gentleman who cleans, keep it pretty organized and tidy, too.

I needed help replacing my library card and scanning some papers. The gentleman at the front was friendly, helpful, and had a lot of patience for all my questions. It was great to see all the precautions in place to stop the spread of Covid. Thank you for your hard work.

This has been my neighborhood library for so long and it has always felt so cozy to me. It might be small but it's nice and comforting.
