The airport has seen airline jets, but no passenger airline serves Chico since United Express ended flights to San Francisco.Past airline service & Pacific ExpressAirlines at Chico were American Airlines regional affiliate American Eagle, Hughes Airwest, Pacific Express, Reno Air Express and WestAir operating as United Express.Southwest Airways and its successors provided the only airline service into Chico from 1947 until June 1979. The best place for ....IDK. Planes, or maybe jet fuel.!? Is it aviation fuel? Helicopters likely exist here. Bombers do touch and go runs from Beale AFB once or twice a month. Im told they can't land because they need a couple of vehicles to hold up the wings or some such something.
What a waste of space!!! This place went under due to poor leadership…. Only one flight and it was to SF????? Nobody wants to fly to SF when they can drive there in 2 hours. Flights to LA, LV and SD would be much more lucrative… Just another example of small town mentality that kills any chance at a successful future for the region. Chico is the largest city north of Sacramento in the most populous state in America The leaders in the Chico Area have ran this place in to the ground… especially Chico State and whoever runs the parks departments. Transient camps all over Beautiful Bidwell Park and clogged thoroughfares. Chico is also one of the most densely populated cities in California. Two times more people per capita as compared to the next largest city in the region which is Redding.
Very clean and professional Beautiful area. I felt safe and taken care of
I used to fly out of this airport at least ten times a year. However, with the DRASTIC decline in customer service specifically Craig in the past year, I refuse to utilize this airport. I refuse to patronize a business that permits their staff to scream and belittle their patrons prior to a scheduled flight. The unprofessionalism displayed at this airport is shocking. What isn't so shocking is the fact that Skywest Airlines is pulling out due to an "unprofitable route." Wise up Skywest and look at the staff that has been running this airport zoo.
Totally disappointed with the United Airlines customer service. The supervisor Craig I think was a total jerk with us. We were there at 5:30 am waiting for the flight, and charged us $40 for our luggage because out final destination is another country, and we were also carrying a big box with a bike, but they didn't charge us anything for that, which is totally ok. But they did something wrong and we couldn't get on the plane and made us wait for the next flight until 6 pm. When we showed up there at 6 pm, they charged us $140! Just because the rules "said so", which is insane because in the morning they only made us pay $40. So obviously we were arguing with the supervisor, but he was a total jerk with us. After this experience, I'm never gonna fly out of Chico again, I'll choose either Sacramento or San Francisco.
I have rented a few vehicles from this airport and I like their private strip for going on a quick flight around chico. I enjoyed the museum as well. I really hope that they can get some contracts with majory airlines again.
I am Geocacheing there come to chico I have 600 caches hid in chico. QEF
This was the worst airport that I have ever visited... There is one person who is very disrespectful and every time I go to Chico airport, He ruins my day... Everyone is very nice except this one guy... The airport should keep this problem in their mind..
It's an airport. Very small and expensive to fly from. Easier to go into Sac for a flight. Does have a car rental place Hertz.
Beautiful little airport, hertz service terrible they closed and no one is there to fix your problems, one week that I was there, change 3 cars
