My 7 years old son was transfer from ER of another Inova hospital to the ICU of the Inova Children’s Hospital because of a respiratory problem, and of course we were terrified for the situation, but from the first minute that the members of the ICU came with the ambulance to transport my son, everybody was AMAZING, they treated us with so much kindness, respect, and truly care that I can’t express the gratitude to everybody at the hospital specially the people of the ICU and the regular floor as well, doctors, nurses practitioner’s, specialist’s, administrative staff, cleaning staff, food staff, everybody was a blessing! My son had so much fun at the hospital during the hard times and at the same time had an amazing team taking care of him and doing an outstanding work to have him back to our house after two days! Thank you so much for your hardwork, care and amazing service to the community and to our children, god bless y’all!!
Terrible. I wish I could go somewhere else with better service. The nurse was not attentive, swabed infant's nose when she was in the middle of eating, made her to through up everything she has had the whole day and this is while she had been eating very little food for the past few days. Then they did bunch of tests and told us they'll let me know teh result in few hours, they didn't call to give the result until next day afternoon, and then charged a hefty amount
Amazing experience with taking our son to the Children’s ER! From the moment we walked in the door, to the time we were transported to another INOVA facility for surgery, and through out the entire process all staff were kind, attentive, and caring. I have NEVER had such an amazing experience with any hospital or medical facility!
I bring my daughter at the ER because she's having a hard time of breathing and can't stop coughing. 2hours just to check her vitals. After getting in waited another 2 hours. Not a single doctor came to see us. They gave her a breathing treatment and sent us home because my daughter smiled and the NP said "She looks happy now they can go home" Sent us home without doing swabs or even blood work on her. Well turns out MY DAUGHTER HAS RSV. I sent her to another ER that night at Virginia hospital
Previously was one of the better hospitals of the area, especially when it came to children. Lengthy wait room times with literally no acknowledgement. 3+ hours with no word from anyone on the staff team. I understand it’s the time of year that everyone comes in for flu etc but it’s inexcusable. After 3 hours, my son got a bed in the hallway with another hour passing by before further questioning. Just our luck, we are ringing in his 7th birthday as I’m typing this.
My son fell while playing with my nephews we took him into winchester medical center for what we thought was a dislocated hip that turned out to be a broken femur we were transported to inova since WMC was unable to preform the surgery once we got there we were taken straight into the er all of the nurses and doctors were extremely nice to us and did their absolute best to make him as comfortable as possible once we were admitted into a room his night nurse was Rebecca who was amazing and his day nurse was Ashley who again was amazing. His surgeon and all of the PACU nurses were great as well. My son is 2 years old and was terrified and in pain and they did everything they could to make him as comfortable as possible!
I brought my daughter to the ER here after a mishap at the playground. Despite being busy the staff were cordial and prompt in their assessment and care for her. It was my daughter’s first time ever going to the ER - she was scared but the RNs and NP that saw her were great and put her at ease. The reason that I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I realized today that ER Registration never took my insurance information, which means I’m going to have to deal with the hassle of being billed directly and submitting everything to my insurance on my own. After a stressful situation that’s really the last thing that I want on my plate. Despite the insurance misstep by staff, even though my family usually uses Children’s National for emergency or specialty needs I would be comfortable bringing my kids back here.
My son recently went to the pediatric ER at INOVA Fairfax for a bowel blockage. He has a history of chronic constipation and was very frightened, but the doctor and his nurse Rebecca took their time to explain everything and ease his anxiety, despite the floor being obviously busy. He left smiling and feeling so much better. Thank you so much to all of the staff for the exceptional care. It really made a difference for us.
Not a great experience. Total lack of communication across the board. Doctor never came to see us after he put in orders for things we had questions about. We received discharge papers without any explanation of what was going on with our child and what to do moving forward. Will take the additional time to go to Inova Fair Oaks next time.
My daughter is currently at the hospital under a great and professional care. We are impressed by the medical staff, however, they can do better with the radiology dept. We are staying one more day here because they can’t get my daughter scheduled.
