The PRAIRIE DOGS! This place is a must go simply for the prairie dog exhibit. They are the cutest, most lively form of entertainment I have seen at any zoo! Among the rest of the creatures at this fantastic place were birds, gators, wolves, deer, goats, monkeys, penguins, alpacas, and lamas. I’m probably missing some. The many flower gardens make it an absolutely breathtaking experience. All of the staff seem so happy to work there and be around the animals. The animals are well taken care of and happy to! We will definitely be back!
This is a very nice and very well kept up with children's zoo. The animals were spaced out perfectly and had wonderful viewable areas. There are plenty of places to stop with the little ones to rest in shade. There is a great playground area that offers shade for adults. The nature gardens are beautiful and decorated very nice. They have scavenger hunts and crafts throughout as well. It was pretty cool that peacocks just roam around.
Nice smaller zoo. They have a wonderful playground and fossil digsandbox so the kids can burn off some energy. You can easily get through the whole zoo in an hour or two or stay longer with various activities for the kids. The carousel is nice and they have a floating bridge in the lily pond. Lots of animals for a small zoo.Visited onWeekdayWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
We decided to stop here as a surprise for our kids ages 9y and 7y on the way back from a nearby staycation. I am so happy we did! This is a great, unique little zoo. There were a few exhibits down, but I think you come across that at any zoo. They also had some new enclosures being built, which makes me excited for a later visit. The floating bridge over the marsh walk was my favorite! The zoo was very affordable entry for 4 people, and 2 tickets for the carousel only ran us $32, and thankfully it was not overcrowded either we got there about 1230pm on a Monday. The animals all looked healthy and the staff there was friendly and professional. Our family has food allergies, and the staff at the food service areas had no problem helping us find safe foods, it was greatly appreciated. We took our time enjoying every bit of the small zoo, we ended up staying about 4hrs, but you could easily get through it much faster. Overall, I'm really glad we stopped, it was a great day outing for all of us, and I definitely plan to go back again next year to see the new exhibits and ride the train.
Great zoo for children! Plan to spend about 3 to 4 hours. Nice little petting farm, children's play area, fossil hunt in the giant sandbox, train, and carousel as well. They allow you to park strollers at the train boarding area so you don't take them on with you. My 2 year old gson had a blast!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitPrice for adult entry$6–10
Our first time here and we had a great time! We enjoyed seeing all the animals and educational exhibits! Lots of variety of animals present at the Saginaw Children’s Zoo! They do offer military discount for military families with military Id/proof of service! Parking wasn’t bad. Easy in and out. We plan to be back soon! Small zoo. Very adorable for a nice afternoon trip. Took about 25 mins to view most of the animals. I believe this was opening weekend so a few of the animals were not out yet. There was a nice carousel ride as we were leaving. There was also some food options. My brother loved it. I’d go back if it wasn’t so far from my home.Visited onWeekendWait timeUp to 10 minReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
We love coming to the zoo, even though we don't have kids and we're grown adults. The set-up is easy to walk and there is a lot of shade for hot, sunny days. Landscaping is beautiful with lots of flowers and decorations. Although small, it's an inexpensive zoo with lots of fun critters. Our favorites are the owl and capuchin monkeys.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$1–5
Spending time with my wonderful nieces and this was a great activity to do! It was not crowded at all we went there on a Thursday with gorgeous weather. Sunny but not too hot so the animals were out and about. They have a little bit of everything! Didn't get to see it all so we'll be back.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
A great place to take the kids for an afternoon of fun. This place is much more than a zoo! There are lots of fun things to do and experience here, from park playsets to fossil digs to floating bridges, there's something for everyone!
