Heavy Rescue 9 is one of two Rescue Companies in the Cincinnati Fire Department and is housed with Engine 9 and Medic 9 in Bond Hill.
Formed in 2006 Heavy Rescue 9 is one of 2 technical rescue teams in Cincinnati tasked with: Hazardous Materials Response and rescues involving :high angle (rope), confined space, building collapse, ice, water, trench, and vehicle extrication. Rescue 9 answers first alarms of fire in the north and east sections of town and second alarms throughout the remainder of the city. The crews also provide training for recruits and fire companies.
