The Oxford fire department is located in the northwest corner of Butler county Ohio. Approximately 65 employees make up the forces, including Volunteer, Part-time, and career employees. Administrative staffing consists of a Full time Fire chief, and Administrative assistant. Emergency crews work 12 or 24 hours shifts led by 3-Full time fire captains, 3 part-time captains, and 1 part-time lieutenant.

The City of Oxford Division of Fire was founded in 1833. providing fire protection and emergency medical services (EMS) for the City of Oxford, Miami University, and Oxford Township. It also provides EMS for the Village of College Corner, Ohio and for the western half of Milford Township.
