Went here with my son because we have both been sick. I've been here before and the staff and doctor were great and thorough. This time they were short and not very caring at all. The doctor came in and acted as if she did not want to touch us. Had my son to take deep breaths all the while steadily moving the stethoscope before he could complete his breaths. Mind you my son has bronchitis and I brought him in for being congested. I am pregnant suffering flu like symptoms. I was told my son has a cold and I a viral sore throat. Here two days later, I've gotten much worse. She was extremely unattentive and so were the staff this day. Get another profession if caring for people is not your thing. I am now preparing to go back to the doctor for a real diagnosis. We will not be going back here service .
I was there on 05/13/2018 due to a skin infection that was the size of a baseball. I was in severe pain, and I had informed the nurses and doctors the infection was spreading. I also informed them that I have Lupus, and that my immune system is low and is not fighting off the infection. Dr Swami came in, put gloves on, did not even touch the area to see how hard the tissue was, just looked and said I recommend a high dose of antibiotics, and ibuprofen for the pain. That was great, anything to help the infection go away. He then proceeded to tell me that this is probably due to diabetes, even though I have never been diagnosed with diabetes and I was also tested for diabetes a few months before that and wasn't even close to the the number. I kept letting him know that I was nowhere close to having diabetes, and he just kept pushing it. I do believe that I was being fat-shamed by him, and he was rushing to get out the door telling me that I just need antibiotics. To my surprise the lady from the front desk came in and said "this is how this is going to roll..". That right there is terrible bedside manner, speaking to me like she is in authority figure whenever I am sitting there in pain. I was very taken aback by the way that she spoke to me, and it was very frustrating but I remained calm. She then proceeded to tell me that I can pay $645 and get a prescription for antibiotics written out, or I could not pay the $645 and not get a prescription for antibiotics. Keep in mind this is after the doctor strongly recommended antibiotics, and knows that I have a pre-existing condition where my immune system is extremely low. I told her that I would not be able to afford $645, but I do need the prescription. She then recommended that I go to a facility that she recommended, but this was on a Sunday and nowhere else was open. She then said well unfortunately if you cannot pay that, then we can not prescribe you the antibiotics. I was very upset but still remained calm, and I had explained to her that this is not fair practice, and the doctor's job is to make sure that I am well taken care of and seen properly from start to finish. The lady then left the room, and the nurse came in and gave me my discharge papers which I refused to sign due to the fact that what was stated on my discharge papers was not how I was taken care of. I have sent in a formal complaint into the corporate office, and will be taking legal action. Dr Swami Has no bedside etiquette, and the staff are more about money than making sure that their patients are okay. The nurse I will say was very nice though. Just a word of advice if you do not have insurance, and cannot afford to pay a ridiculously high amount just to be looked at then do not go here because they will not prescribe you anything, even if it is something important. People in the medical field take an oath to make sure that they take care of their patients, but let me tell you at this location that oath is completely thrown out the window. I also want to add that a year ago, I went to this location to be seen for a fever and chest pains, and was told by the person at the front desk that she does not deem this as an emergency. I do not believe that this woman still works there, but this is how this location handles things it seems like. The doctor is the person that must deem something an emergency not the billing and coding person.
I took my grandson here last night, because he had an injury at school, and needed stitches. Dr. Allison was amazing with him and so were the nurses that helped sorry I forgot your names, nice guy longish hair and the female nurse that helped while he was getting the numbing shot. They were all very patient with my grandson, and answered the volley of questions he threw at them. They told me what I needed to do to take care of his stitches at home and answered any questions I had. I read some of the reviews before going and was a bit worried, but decided to chance it, with the thought in my mind that if they do one thing wrong, I am outta there! From the minute we walked in, until we walked out, every member of the staff we met were friendly and had smiles on their faces. I would definitely use the again in an emergency, and was grateful they are only about 3 miles from my home, so I did not have to drive all the way to Children's Hospital in Dallas.
I will NEVER use this place again! They DO NOT consider financial needs in the billing office. The service was good actually ok but I am walking distance from this place and I promise I will be driving farther to find another urgent care hospital... If you can't afford LARGE monthly payments to pay off bills, DO NOT use the new City Hospital Emergency Rooms!! My bill was only $221 after my insurance and they refused to let me pay $25 a month. They demanded a minimum of $50 every month or they send it to collections. I'm not willing to lose my credit for an emergency room visit. Beware!! Other places let you pay off in a decent manner! Parkland let us pay off $3000 at $25 a month.
I went in today and it was great ! Nurse Ellen was so sweet and informing. She kept making sure i was comfortable and having a good convo with me. One of the best Nurses i have ever had ! The front desk and other nurses were kind too they made it very easy no wait or anything. The Doctor was also kind and made sure i was feeling okay before i left.
Very deceptive practice. My husband went in with a sore throat and sinus issues about 5pm on a weekday. He was there less than 30 minutes and was billed $1,351.75 besides the amount they charged at time of service. A couple technicians checked his blood pressure and temperature then a doctor came in, read their notes and wrote a prescription. The doctor never even physically checked him. I called to ask why they didn’t explain to him this was an emergency room and was told they cannot discuss billing with patients. I had the same service done at Walmart for $35.00. Our community is not accustomed to having an emergency room on every corner. BEWARE this place presents a misconception and is an organized rip off!
These people don't know what they're doing!!!! I went in because I had all the symptoms of strep throat. The doctor that saw me gave me one test for strep throat and insisted I get tested for 3 other unnecessary things!!!! Which they of course, billed me for! I only came in because I needed my throat tested!! Anyway, he said the test came back negative and that I just had a regular sore throat. A week later, I STILL had symptoms, so I went to my primary care physician, and I was tested positive! Unbelievable! These people only care about one thing, and that is your insurance money! Never again will I step foot here. This is not the first time they've given me the wrong results. My mistake for deciding to give them a second chance because of the convenience of the location.
I went here because my ears was in so much pain and my breathing was bad. They charged me over $300 to sit in the room for 10 mins to tell me nothing was wrong, didn’t give me no prescription and just left the room. I went to another doctor and I had bronchitis and an ear infection some doctors need to do better and actually listen to the patients and not rush them out.
Went in shortly after midnight because my asthmatic toddler was having coughing fits and almost vomiting. I couldn't make it to children's in Dallas so they advised I just go there. Big mistake! I went in and they took his vitals, gave him a syringe of cough syrup and told us to follow up with his allergy doctor the next day. oh and to buy some cough syrup at cvs. A couple of weeks later I get a bill for $426. That's with my insurance. I wasn't even there for 30 mins. I'm going to request an itemized bill because it's truly unbelievable. Update:: I just received the other Half of my bill... to my surprise I also owe the physician $535. That is also with my insurance included. Apparently the other one was just for the facility.
I went here and was diagnosed with the Flu. Since I have an autoimmune disease it takes me a bit longer to recover. I was given a return to work note and was told to call them if I needed more days. Well surprise I needed more days. The rude lady that answered the phone told me they would have had to see me again and I would have had to pay them again to give me an extended doctor's note for the SAME Flu!! Clearly they are money driven!! CONCENTRA was able to accommodate me when I had Strep a few weeks back without me having to make a second visit with a second payment! I will take my money and insurance back to Concentra if I need urgent care in the future! HORRIBLE SERVICE A REVISED DOCTOR'S NOTE SHOULD NOT WARRANT ANOTHER BILLED VISIT!
