The Department has a strong and proud heritage reaching back to the Gold Rush era when a group of citizens formed the Folsom Hook and Ladder Company on March 3, 1857. Today’s department is guided by three priorities: Mission, Members, and Community. With a staff of 65, we work together to provide fire suppression, rescue, prevention, public education, hazardous materials response, and emergency medical services to the community.
