BEWARE!!! I paid for parking at Midtown Plaza Garage in Gainesville for the football game. I did this so my 70 year old grandad who I brought to the game with me could be closer. It says on our receipt from the parking pass “You may park anywhere that doesn’t say reserved” so we did. Got back to our car and we have a immobilized notice with a subject to tow. SEVEN other people with us had one too and receipts where they paid. We called the number no one picked up luckily one of the other people got in touch and a man named Kevin employee #105723 with superior towing pulled up. I went up to Kevin and asked him why I had this on my car when I paid and he threw his hands up at me and yelled at me saying “anything past level 3 is resident parking ONLY and there’s a big sign explaining this” it does NOT say this on the sign or on our parking receipt. So I yelled at him back naturally because it is 10:30 and I am trying to get my grandad home and he told me “congratulations you will be the last one to get your immobilizer removed. I was so angry. He came back around at 12:00 in the morning and wanted us to pay $90 for him to take it off. He told my grandad to walk to the atm and take our cash on the first floor. He has bad hips and cannot do that but luckily he had cash and handed him the cash. The man took it smiled at me and mocked me the ENTIRE TIME. He wrote us a receipt and we told him he will be hearing from our lawyers. He said “I’ve heard that too many times but good luck” and laughed as he drove away. The way he treated us was horrible and even though I was angry he was very aggressive even with my grandad who is down to earth and I was scared for my safety. Anyone else who has had this experience let me know.
Kinda scary at night, but the price is amazing; the owners can't control the location, and I've noticed an uptick in security, which means they really care about keeping the place safe; they also appear to be active here responding to reviews, so props to them for being so proactive
I enjoy the artwork on the walls and its close proximity to the heart of downtown.
Well lit and clean but garage closes at 10pm for non permit parkers despite you having to pay an 8pm to 6am flat rate Edit: owners comment clarified - you just can’t enter after 10. Great parking area!
We recently moved to Gainesville and decided to try out some of the restaurants around. We park in this garage and I think to myself...hmm this is odd you don't have to pay for parking as there is no gate to stop at to get a parking card. Well we get back to our car to find we got a ticket. Come to find out you do have to pay. After walking around my wife finally notices a small sign see the picture, if you have trouble seeing it, well its because its the small sign next to the right of the large sign, which blends in with all the graffiti on the walls and another small sign near the entrance again see the picture and good luck finding it. The place is lit up with electronic signs and graffiti all over so its easy to miss these small signs which tell you to somehow pay from your phone. How convenient they use a system unlike any other typical parking garage and then don't bother to make it obvious, with a large sign, you have to pay to park. I'm sure they also have someone watching to quickly come slap a ticket on the car...since I seriously doubt this person comes and checks every vehicle in the garage. Such a scam. Typical Govt leadership just wanting to generate revenue, but they don't think about the businesses impacted because I won't bother coming back to that side of town.
Visited the 352 Murals in Gainesville!! Didn't have a map, but we found quite a few. Beautiful work, a must see when in Gainesville!!
Where I park in Gainsville. Adequate garage. better for small low profile vehicle. Pay attention to signs & know your vehicle height vans& trucks & conversion vans use Caution, park on lower level if unsure. Better for small & midsize vehicles.
It's not the cleanest garage, but it's been a reliable place to park long-term. I've never had a problem finding parking spots and the permit system makes parking there hassle-free with no need for stickers or codes to get in. It can get a little busy at night because of the bars nearby and during football games.
Easy to use. Just park, pay, and go have fun at all the great place to eat and hangout downtown. Passport app is a breeze. Already had it on my phone from using it in CO.
YOUNG WOMEN: If possible do not park here alone at night. This parking garage is convenient because it is within a walking distance from many of the restaurants and bars nearby, however with that being said BE VERY CAREFUL coming here at night. Drunk people loiter in large crowds and often begin fighting or yelling.
