Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs
Our vision is to be seen as the keepers and hosts of the places where nature, recreation and culture meet, offering memorable experiences for all. With the mission to provide and maintain the natural, recreational and cultural facilities and programs that make Gainesville a great place to live, work and visit; and that help sustain the City economically, socially and environmentally. Our goal is to make each experience in our parks and facilities as enjoyable as possible so that visitors will come back again and again.

To meet the community's need for diverse recreational, cultural, and environmental educational opportunities through professionally managed programs and services, stewardship of natural resources, and maintenance of public landscape.

Reviews
Horrific inconsistencies - they don't open the parks per posted hours and they even close before closing hours. It depends on if they feel like working. It's not based on issues with the park or weather - it's issues with employees. Overall, Gainesville is a terrible place to live with very bad City and county management and I can literally prove that fact with evidence.
Would be nice if they announced a park closing instead of making people drive over to find the gate locked!
