I parked outside my home and wrongfully me and three other cars were give a ticket with a 515 violation of “No Parking Permit” in a Street where “Permits ARE NOT Required”. I called the office and of course they do not answer. Now I have to take time off of work to go to the office. This Parking Authority is Terrible, they need to pay more attention to their job and provide professional customer service. They honestly make people want to move out of Harrisburg or not to visit.
Absolute worst experience. My rental call which was parked on my street, where I live, with my parking permit on the dash got impounded while I was out of state for 5 days for an in person residency for my graduate program. I'm studying therapy and this city consistently antagonizes, victim blames, and discourages people to try to get help. I returned home to find the rental car missing and I had 15 mins to get to work. I didn't know if it was stolen, towed, or if the rental company came and got it. My supervisor guilted me that I had a busy day of counseling appts so I was able to get a coworker to take me to work which costed me a few hundred more from Don and Sons towing. Total charges now $500 and the car is still at their lot. As a female in her early 20s I had 4 grown men try to intimidate me for getting paperwork out of the rental when I was at their location. I spoke to a woman at Harrisburg Police who said I should have called for a cop to arrive with how these men acted. I was told I needed to get a slip from HBG police dept. The woman at that office refused to give me the slip because the car was not in my name - obviously it is in the rental company's name. They did not try to help explain this process at all. The police bureau and parking enforcement were terrible in this situation. Don and Son's towing is disgusting.
I was handed a $30 parking violation ticket when I was inside the car with my 5 month old. I had an emergency blinkers on and was coming out to pay the meter; this lady who was issuing a ticket was rude and didn’t listen to anything but said ticket is already issued and flew away. Never ever had seen this rudeness in my life, stopped a car for a second and had to pay $30. Could have appealed but didn’t want to spend so much time, I had no mistakes here. I have no problem with nobody but this ticketing lady had to listen at least then to say ticket is already issued and run. Very unprofessional and lack of knowledge.
The parking enforcement “officers” have been harassing the residents of midtown during the construction of 2nd Street. They have driven in circles at 6am around the new roundabout while blaring their horn the entire time to get people to move their cars! So inappropriate. How they have handled the construction has been disgraceful honestly. I’m ashamed to have them represent my city.
Very unprofessional! They speak in public about inappropriate things. They know the parking is limited for permit Parkers and will not negotiate on a ticket due to no parking for permit Parkers. Their attitudes are very nasty. Someone needs to close this place down immediately!
A parking permit is much cheaper than paying the increased parking meter of $4/hr which went into effect 8/01/2021. To only pay $30 for the year is better than $30 each ticket occurrence. Makes sense to me!
Came here several times to pay for a parking pass to an indoor garage. Never had any problems but didn't really enjoy the garages either. Much preferred to park on City Island and enjoy the walk much healthier too.
Can’t get a hold of anyone, website is wrong for where you buy monthly passes.
typical state employees. no one even answers the phone.
MY ADVICE: DO NOT PARK ANYWHERE DOWNTOWN. UNLESS IT'S AFTER 5PM OR SUNDAY.
