Great dog park. Lots of dogs most of the time, except if it's sunny. Even then sometimes people brave the weather and find shade under the trees, which is nice. There's a pool area for dogs to cool off in. Poop bags available if management keeps up with restocking, which at times they don't. Downsides are the play area is sand so dog gets dusty or dirty from sand if had a swim and parking after work hours
My dog and I didn’t like this dog park very much. The place is very dusty, there were no poop bags, and the water fountain was not operational even on a warm day. Most dogs were well behaved except for one whose owner was not interested in watching or correcting his dog. No one spoke to each other — everyone was sitting on their phones while the dogs played. Not the kind of experience I enjoy at a dog park.
Really enjoy this dog park. We live in Clarendon but I’m sure parking sucks just for a dog park. It has a water fountain which they turn on during the summer, dogs love to play in it. Huge yard with sand, two water fountain and bowels for dogs. Plenty of chairs to sit on. Not really that much shade in the blazing heat. Have dog poop bag so you can pick up your dogs poop. Generally everyone is nice, controls their dogs.
Beautiful park with a fountain for pups to splash around during the heat.
Some people rate the Arlington dog parks poorly for the dogs that were there when they went. I think that's unfair. This place is just tough because it's convenient but it's very muddy in the winter/spring and can get dusty in the summer heat. The dog water is also nasty.
Great dog park. Be prepared for a ton of dogs during busy hours after work, for example. There’s usually a mix of sizes of dogs and breeds, and most are well-behaved with attentive owners. Plenty of tennis balls and a nice water fountain for thirsty pups. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty since most of the dirt is kitty litter type material. I took my 5 month old puppy multiple times and she loved it.
Quite a lot of space for the dogs to run around, water fountains and bowls for refreshments, double gates upon entering as any good dog park has, and the ground is a sandy material so it doesn't hurt their paws. Plenty of places for their humans to sit as well. One of the other thoughtful things that this park has is biodegradable poop bags. If you have a small dog and typically like a designated area for small dogs to be in, this dog park does not have that sort of thing. It is one big area.
Pretty decent place. Lots of friendly people on weekends. It's sufficiently clean with lots of semi-comfortable seating around the edges. Water fountains are available to refill the park's dog bowls. Small dipping pool for dogs to cool off in. Not cat friendly.
We enjoy going to the Clarendon dog park because it's within walking distance and there are usually always other dogs to play with. However, I really don't like the "sand" that is about 3/4 of the park. It really stinks and every time we leave, our dog is covered in it and even worse, when it rains hard, it just collects water and there are puddles everywhere. It's nice cause it's large and close by, but it does make your dog gross quicker if they play as hard as ours does. In the summer it's nice that there is a little doggie pool/water fountain, but it does get really gross and I feel the need to bath my dog every time she goes in.
We come here because of convenience mostly, but there are much better dog parks. It's got a fountain which our dog likes. Downsides are that it's basically a hot litter box. The sand is nasty and theres no shade for the summer months. I wish the architect was forced to actually use the dog park after it was built.
