This is how much Coleman values it’s military families that they are hired to move. Our home goods arrived broken, beat up, and several items all together missing. Broken televisions, broken appliances, broken furniture, pieces of two bed frames missing, the one and only parts box is missing which has all the parts to assemble our beds and dining room table. Moreover we received items that weren’t ours! We sent them back but that means another family somewhere is missing their items too. So, we are in a house now with no beds or dining tables assembled, broken appliances, damaged furniture and all the company has to say is, “we will try to find the parts box.” Outrageous.Services: Moving-related storage
Moving back from Hawaii I had zero problems with the moving crew delivering items. However, once I unpacked the house I made the call to Coleman for a box pickup and was told it can't happen because I waived it on the form. I asked if I can be provided with the form that I signed and noted that I waived a box pickup at a later date because I don't recall doing so. I got the form and I nowhere ticked the waive box I've pcs'd twice and this is a first that a crew would have to unpack at owners request in order to take the refuse that same day. The gentleman that I was forwarded to after explaining how this has not happened in two PCS's told me "welcome to the military bud". A class act of leadership from a moving company, I hope he got his childhood dream of becoming manager on duty at a moving company.
My family and I moved from MD to SC a few weeks ago. Overall, our experience with Coleman wasn’t great. People in the office were very helpful and the moving crew was very nice and helpful in general. However, on moving day, the driver coded much of our furniture as damaged and wouldn’t explain why and was upset when I asked about what the codes meant. On delivery day, some pieces of our furniture arrived damaged including one table leg that had been broken off and clearly glued back on. The driver took no responsibility for these damages and was upset when I inquired about how to claim damages. We wouldn’t recommend this company due to our overall experience.
Not very happy with the move overall. Furniture was taken apart and parts were thrown into various boxes and poorly marked so that beds and couches could not initially be put together when delivered out of storage. Once some parts were found, they had to send a crew 3 days later to assemble couch and three beds. It was like putting together a puzzle for the team sent as they had no idea what the end result looked like. They did a great job. After a week, still have not found parts to TV Table legs and the 2 metal plate that hold the mirror on to the dresser. I'm also convinced that some boxes never made it to my house as there are some things I am sure were packed but have not been seen. Several glass items did not survive the storage and move. One box was smashed and ended up containing one of the broken items. During delivery, it's impossible to check the boxes to the sheets as the boxes come in to fast. In addition, original packers used two sets of the same numbers complicating things. Overall, I expected better from Allied.
I was encouraged to send my stuff via freight, since I was moving to a one bedroom across state. This was a bad idea. Several pieces of my furniture arrived damaged/destroyed e.g. wood shelf, accent chair, dry erase board, computer chair . I understand there is a file claiming process, but some things are difficult to replace, so I'm not giving five stars. Sales was great and the movers were friendly, but the van both days arrived late and I ultimately didn't get a lot of clarity about arrival times/driver status etc until very late in the process, which made the move more stressful than it could have been. I will come back and adjust the review, depending on how the claims process works.
Our experience with Allied Coleman has been nothing short of dismal. At this point, I would implore anyone that asked not to do business with Allied if you value your time or sanity. From the start the moving crew sent to load up our house spent more time complaining than working. What could have been done in three or four hours took from 10am to 6pm. We paid for a professional crew to move my safe and pack certain delicate items. Neither of those people showed up. Our driver ended up packing the breakables and the basic moving crew, by some miracle, was able to load my safe. At the other end, our delivery has been missed by almost a week. The flimsy excuse of long ago lifted road closures was the reason given for the delay. Our contact person has been difficult to reach throughout the delivery process, although I legitimately believe she couldn't get any information for us. So far, choosing Allied has cost us nearly $2000 in hotel costs and associated expenses. Unless Allied steps up to the plate big time to lessen the bill, I will tell everyone who will listen to avoid Allied at all costs.
Totally frustrated with this moving company. Will never recommend or use them to transport my possessions ever again!! They hire inexperienced people to pack your household items. The crew that arrived to pack up my items in MD did not know what they were doing. They ended up breaking my TV stand leg, floor lamp and dresser legs were badly damaged. The boxes marked fragile were not handled in that manner but thrown around which I brought to their attention. I still have a glass curio cabinet lying on my floor in pieces because the inexperienced destination team was unable to reassemble it. Plus the brackets to hold my mirror to the dresser were missing, my dresser could not be totally re-assembled back together for me to use. The movers did not inform me of my missing boxes/items until after they got their check in hand from me. It seemed as if the company was only interested in getting paid not at all about customer service and making sure all items were delivered unbroken and reassembled correctly. The movers from MD also informed me that they were only given limited amount of blankets/supplies to provide with my move. I called the Jessup warehouse location on Saturday, January 11, 2020 to see if Rick/Mike could locate my brackets to hold my mirror onto the dresser, but nothing could be done because he was out of the office over the weekend. So I have to wait until Monday... January 13th 2020 before getting an answer. It's January 21st, 2020 and I'm still waiting for a call. My belongings was sitting in the Jessup warehouse for three days before being picked up and moved to GA. You pay out all this money only to be frustrated... it probably would have been best to rent a truck and move myself at least my possessions would have not been damaged by unprofessionals. Never use this company EVER Again!
My husband wanted to use this service to begin with and I didn’t because we’ve never had the need and didn’t have any recommendations. After checking around and talking to different shipping companies I realized my husband may be right so I went ahead and set everything up for this company to ship our belongings across the country. I am so glad I listened to my husband. Everything went very smoothly and arrived in perfect condition. I can’t say enough how much I would recommend this company. Great service and communication. I give them a 10+ rating.
Had Billy and Ryan handle my unaccompanied baggage move today and this has been, by far, the best experience I have had with a moving company. Had multiple items, including electronics and art, that held both great monetary and emotional value. They ensured these items were safely packed and even made a custom box for an oversized computer, so they could put extra padding in. Would definitely suggest this company for any futures moves you have.
