Columbia County Public Library - Fort White Branch

I'm very disappointed in our public library system. The fees really make me sick to my stomach. $70+ for 4 kids level 1 reading book that were slightly water damaged from my daughter spilling her bottle of water in her bookbag. I was told they were unable to reshelve or sell the books due to the water damage and they charge an additional $4 fee per book on top of the cost to replace it. They said I could pay $2 and check out 2 books but now I'm terrified my daughter will accidentally damage a level 1 book and have to pay an extra $20. I don't know where they're buying their books from but sadly me and my kids won't be back to the public library.

Nice staff, good selection of books government allowed only overall the only issue isn't their fault

Fort White branch is lovely, with gardens and covered outdoor seating too! Great for socially distanced meet ups. The staff is helpful and they have a big selection of used books on sale for .25 cents! Beautiful location!
