We were traveling from MN on vacation. My hubby screwed up his knee and could not walk. They took beyond excellent care!! The entire staff was kind, caring and quick. We were beyond impressed. They even updated his photo ID while we were there. Highly recommend!!!
I debated on this if I have to share it or not but I think it is good that other people are aware with what I had experienced with the security guard at 2:00 in the morning on Sept. 21, 2022. I took my husband to the emergency for severe stomach pain. I park before emergency door to take my husband inside but I was stopped by the security guard and I was told to move mu car. I was shocked for him to approached me like that instead ask me if I need help or what's the emergency for? It's ashamed for the VA hired incompetent security guard. The experienced was very sad...
The SARRTP staff is the the absolute best. Doctors, nurses, therapist, dietitians, pharmacist, admin... Simply the best. I made great progress. Hard to leave
Excellent care fro ER 1/28 for husband. All staff. Nice, friendly, helpful in every way.
VA HOSPITAL in Lake City, is an incredible facility. I am proud to be a veteran, and receive tremendous treatment here.
I am a veteran of 26 years in Navy, retired 3 years ago however calling on behalf of a fellow veteran who is terminally sick to get some info on standard procedures. The social worker who took my call was an atrocious. Unbelievable what Veterans have to deal with to get some help. That social worker has no business in VA system.
They are an okay facility, but do not offer appointments in a timely manner. Nor do they answer the phones quickly. You may be on hold for 20-30 minutes just to speak to someone. They need to do better. Veterans should be able to make and attend appointments as quickly and easily as possible. No one wants to deal with the hassle of getting simple medical care. And many do not, for these reasons.
I have been going to Lake City VA for many years and have always received good quality healthcare and have been treated with respect and the care was provided in a timely manner. The medical care I have gotten has been as good or better than private sector.
There are just not enough kind words for me to detail the excellent care my husband received from the staff, doctors, nurses at the Lake City VA Hospital. My husband got COVID-19 in December has been sick since, many er visits, ICU hospitalization and now dealing with after COVID-19 symptoms. Then the most impressive when the cardiologist called personally today to speak with us about upcoming procedures, talk about bedside manner! I was going to send a letter to the Director of Nursing but that would not suffice, because everyone who has had a role in the care and treatment of my husband’s health have been beyond amazing, with the restrictions of not being able to visit in the hospital it is and was very comforting to know that he was being well cared for. Thank you seems to be such a simple thing to say, but from my family “THANK YOU ALL FOR TAKING CARE OF MY CHILDREN’S “FATHER”, MY GRAND-CHILDREN'S “ OPA”, MY FATHER-IN-LAWS “SON”, AND MY "SWEETHEART”!!!
The only place as equally useless as LCVA is any and every other VA center. Incompetent operators that transfer you to random lines that don’t pick up or don’t apply. Doctors that fail to make appointments in person, by phone, or teleconference. Clueless nurses that offer no assistance what so ever. Random medications mailed out which were never discussed. If this is the best we can do for our vets we’re living in sad times. I was there when my country called but it appears my country is on an extended break when I call. I moving so good riddance....
