Everything here is neat and the staff is really nice but they do nothing about the kids here. I know it’s not their responsibility to take care of them but the children just run around while being as loud as they please. I imagine that anytime not during the summer it’s a nice chill place to be but right now it feels like a daycare EDIT: Yeah this is an update from about an hour later, some kid on the Xbox is talking smack and baby raging the same way as if he were at home.
This is a very open library, with various areas that serve kids, teens, and adults. There is a computer lab and a quiet study space, and a space designated for homework help. There is a lot of seating for students who are looking to study. Lots of windows, which makes it a wonderful library. There is “snack time” for any child under 18, which is a nice service. Their announcements before the library closes are very thorough and informative; the would announce when the library will close in an hour, and let the customers know to arrange rides or call their parents for pickup if needed.
Every single study room is booked and not a single soul inside a single room...each room claimed by persons until 8 or 9pm...this is ridiculous. The quiet room is NOT always quiet. People sit together and chat away...what is the point of the quiet room if there's chatting and annoying continuous whispers.
Well thought out design. Lots of space for studying and reading. Computers available to use, and of course free WiFi for your own devices. Courtesy phone available 3 minute limit Cota bus stop out front with bench with overhead protection. Everything is on one level. Different book areas well marked. There is a drive up book return. Great if you are a caregiver!
I love getting my books at this location. Lovely staff!
Recently rebuilt And just perfect inside! The staff is always friendly and helpful. There's a ton of resources waiting inside...more people should support and utilize our local libraries... You can use the computers... Make copies and print at a very low cost... You can fax papers...for FREE! Which is a lifesaver if you don't have access otherwise to these things. And of course...you can check out books. Reading is fundamental and knowledge is power! Seriously, there's a lot of dumb spreading and fast we must all do what we can to combat that!
Great atmosphere due to the patrons—they are wonderful! But the customer service of the staff is lacking. They do not honor your study room appointments even when you have a confirmation receipt. Something is wrong with their reservation system and instead of fixing it and taking ownership, they shake their heads and shrug. If you want a place to work that respects your time and will follow through on their commitments to you, try the Karl road location. It’s newer and nicer and I have never had any kind of booking issue.
I love this library I used to come here when they used to have reading buddy and let me tell you something my kids used to beg me to go to the library because of reading buddies even during the Coronavirus my kids would ask then hey opened up reading buddies online I really hope they bring reading buddies back during the summer and I really recommend this library!!!!
Needed to fax and the nice Ben showed me how to do great employee and got other resources which were helpful thanks Ben at northern lights!
Very mean underneath the surface.. they either don’t greet you, have security scream at you for having any device with headphones.. which is not a problem.. but when the noise level in the whole library is loud and you single mines out.. a guy tends to wonder I feel sorry for the guy that was crying because staff did something to him.. speak of passive aggressiveness
