The OSU Libraries includes 13 locations on central campus, 9 special collections and libraries on the university's regional campuses.
The Ohio State University Libraries (OSUL) serves the university community on the main and regional campuses with a blend of physical and digital resources, unique special collections and innovative services. The Libraries are committed to providing the resources needed to support teaching, learning and research. The system includes 13 facilities on the university’s main campus and six libraries at Ohio State campuses across the state. The Libraries also include nine unique special collections for use by Ohio State University faculty, students, visiting scholars and the general public. OSUL is run by 230 (FTE) faculty and staff and more than 400 student workers.
The Libraries’ collection includes more than six million volumes, plus collections in other traditional library formats. OSUL has also invested in a diverse offering of electronic information resources. Its membership in OhioLINK, a consortium of 88 Ohio college and university libraries, and the State Library of Ohio, provides access to millions of additional books and electronic resources outside of OSUL’s local holdings.
The Ohio State University Libraries is committed to meeting the diverse and changing information needs of the University’s students, faculty, and staff, and to participating in resource sharing programs throughout Ohio and the world. The Libraries’ facilities, collections, services, instruction, and scholarship contribute to the University’s attainment of excellence in teaching, research, and service.
To these ends, the Libraries collect, create, organize, manage, preserve, and provide access to information sources, and foster an environment conducive to academic inquiry, scholarly communication, creative achievement, and lifelong learning.
