Prior to 1962, physicians were not always able to admit patients or schedule surgeries as quickly as they wanted to with only one hospital in town. Due to the growing population and the ever-increasing need, a committee formed to coordinate raising funds for building another hospital. The campaign took off, and the community rallied behind their efforts. Pledges from over 17,000 individuals, along with significant gifts from many organizations resulted in a successful campaign of over 3.25 million dollars to build Community Hospital Anderson.

When the hospital first opened, it was considered a state-of-the-art facility. Over fifty years later, we are still focused on bringing the latest medical advancements to Madison County. Many of our services allow patients to stay close to home for their health care needs. Just a few examples of our advancements include our da Vinci® robotic surgical system, Clinical Research Center, neurosurgery program and our Center for Advanced Wound Healing.

Community Hospital Anderson was built with funds raised entirely by the generous organizations and individuals in this community. It remains the only locally owned and operated hospital in Madison County. Throughout this time, we have remained steadfast in our mission to provide high quality health care here in Anderson, for the community that built us.

I came here to deliver my baby, and I just have to say that while I was there, delivering the entire nursing staff was just absolutely amazing, everyone was so incredibly friendly and uplifting and really made my labor and the process of the few days of healing in the hospital, just very memorable and the very best of ways. I didn’t have any family with me and the nursing staff that I had during active labor was just absolutely wonderful and I felt really comfortable and they just really helped me through a hard process and I really just have to say that they are absolutely wonderful and my doctor or OB was Dr. Mittapalli and he was absolutely incredible as well! 10/10 recommend having your baby here! This was my second baby I had here
Had to take our son there Sunday afternoon. Every staff member we saw went out of their way to provide excellent care for him. RN Matt and Courtney were two of the nicest people we have met. This is the second time within a year we have had to take him there and we have been very pleased both times.
I love this hospital.I will drive out of my way just to go here even though I'm closer to another one. The staff is always friendly, when there's not a ton of people there they get you back in a room quick, and once in a room they see you quickly. Every time I've gone here its been a quicker visit than at any other hospital. This place is awesome!
Would give 0 stars if possible. I had my first child here in 2021. It was a good experience overall. I had my second child here in February of this year. The experience was terrible. Most of the nurses were so rude. My son was in NICU for a few days. After he was able to leave the NICU and come back to our room I was told because he was still having issues that the nurses would need to check vitals every couple hours until we were discharged. The nurse never came in for an entire shift. When my husband told the next nurse about it she kept making excuses. They treated my husband and I like we were idiots. Savannah was by far the worst nurse we had. She was very rude and acted like I was not capable of caring for my child. She came in during night and grabbed him up when I was trying to comfort him. Would give birth in my bathtub before I would go back to this hospital!
My experience at Community Hospital Anderson was an amazing experience! I had major back surgery and was blessed by God to have Dr. Callahan as my surgeon! Was dealing with nerve pain in my legs for years. But thanks to Dr Callahan and his entire staff a miracle has occurred for me! I am now pain free for the first time in forever. I cried doing my first PT because I instantly could tell the pain was gone! Was treated like a king by staff, all the nurses assigned to me, and great food, too! Amazing after care with everyone involved! Could not be happier! Dr. Callahan…an angel in disguise! Thanks to all!
I’ll start off by saying the care of this hospital is flaky.. sometimes you get people that care and most other times.. not so much.. but usually they will still get you taken care of.. however there billing department is a complete and utter joke.. they don’t send bills and will immediately send it off for collections.. resulting in bills being doubled by there vary aggressive collection agency.. meaning you can’t even set up payments or anything.. the hospitals response.. well it’s already in collections.. and won’t help you any further.. if your gonna end up here harass them for the bill every day if you have to..
Everything was great a lot better care than other hospitals in Anderson. But If I will say one thing is that once your insurance runs out they will discard you and treatment and care will go down significantly. The nurses were actually talking to one another saying we have to get this person out of here due to insurance running out. Just a little word of advice if your nurses are gonna talk that talk it’s probably a good idea not to say it next to the room where family and patient can hear that disrespect going on. It was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve herd care takers discussing right next to the room where it can be herd but everybody
I had not been to this hospital in several years and my anxiety levels were through the roof but the staff in the ER were extremely helpful at accomodating me and calming my nerves. They also quickly diagnosed and treated me and I am happy with the results!
I feel like the staff cares more then the people your putting your life their hands. RN Chad never quit on me but Dr Gupta wanted to send me home as I was having a heart attack. Chad told me if Gupta sent me home that night I would’ve DIED!!!! Me and my family will always be grateful to RN Chad!!!! Staff gets 5 stars Doctors gets 0 stars!!!!
Went in at 6:30 am 05/2/2023 for extreme side effects from a medication. Throwing up, tunnel vision, tight chest, breathing complications. 3 different nurses and 3 hours later I still didn’t see anyone and just ended up leaving and went to a different hospital. Went to discharge myself and “oh the doctor can see you in 5 minutes!” I was told that the last 3 hours.. no one was there when I arrived.
