Dr. Harris was my doctor for a number of years he did my physicals and yearlies. He seemed to be a good doctor, but hindsight being 20/20 I have a new perspective. I came in with quite a few ear issues that I kept getting prescribed antibiotics for, nothing else. I also got misdiagnosed with GERD when it turned out to be C.diff. Worst of all when I was hit by a car in September I'd had a few issues with my hands going numb that were pretty frightening to me being honest. It took about 3 months to get prescribed anything other than physical therapy and muscle relaxers which I told him did not work. He finally ordered an MRI and told me the results were fine, going on to the portal it did show three minor bulging discs, I was told age-related but I feel like it's still something I should have been told personally. I explain to him and his nurse that I was still having issues and was told to try a massage. I'd explained that I had gotten massages before and though it made my neck feel better the numbness continued. I'm not exaggerating when I was told their response was well try somewhere outside of Siloam, that may well have been the most ignorant thing I've ever heard a Dr say, though I must admit for the two minutes that I was laughing at the suggestion I did feel better so in that way I guess they did their job. I explained to his nurse that I wanted a referral to a specialist, be at a neurologist or orthopedic surgeon because I didn't feel like they were capable of selling the issue if his last suggestion was a massage, I was told no referral to a specialist would be given and to try second opinion. I took them up on the offer found another doctor, took him 3 weeks to figure out I had anemia and referred me to a pain clinic and neurologist for my arm and hand issues. Got an EMG done as well as a nerve conduction study , I have carpal tunnel and a pinched nerve and both of my arms. I don't know that a massage helps that but the specialist I'd originally asked for that he refused did. Looking back at it he didn't want anything to do with an issue he couldn't solve with steroids or antibiotics. I don't know what they call it when a doctor wont to listen to you and refuses to believe anything's wrong with you, refuses to send you anywhere else, tells you to get a massage and insists you get a second opinion because they don't know what's wrong, and then the doctor who gives you the second opinion diagnoses and treats you in 3 weeks when it took Dr Harris 6 months to get to the point of pawning me out to someone else. Over all my first couple years were good but the last 8 months were close to the worst I've ever experienced from a doctor.
Doctors have absolutely no problem billing you but do not actually assist. My husband has been in constant pain, has never been on any pain killers, and is still being turned away. He has gone in twice in two weeks, went to the dermatologist as recommended and still hasn’t received any assistance. He can’t walk, he can’t life his arm, we pay the medical bill but can’t get anything better than Tylenol. At this point, you are better off using google and figuring things out for yourself because the doctors do not care. Who enjoys going to the doctor? Who likes paying these outrageous bills? If you’re going to the doctor- you clearly need help so it is beyond disappointing that they act like you are searching for pills instead of realizing that you know your own body.
Jokes on me for not reading these reviews first. I don't want to waste anymore of my time explaining the similar experiences. Overall not up to my standards
The most horrible people on earth would call just to ask so questions and would be so rude to me saying I'm arguing and yelling when all I got out my mouth way one sentence and the doctor their dropped me dr temple after because I canceled few times but I always called to let them know and the reason why was my mother in law who lived with us and we took care of was ine and out of hospital and the died 2 weeks ago just don't waste your time with these people
I abhor the clinic on Holly. They always refuse to give me my test results. I made a appointment for the sole reason of getting a referral and the still haven't contacted me about it or given me my results despite me calling multiple times a day for over a week. It's like this every time. They say they'll give you a referral, call or mail results, etc but they never actually do. Apparently a phone call or sending a letter is beyond their capabilities. I've gone here off and on throughout the years and they've never helped me with anything. On top of that when the Dr I had been seeing left they didn't even let me know so I ended up having to make a new appointment just so I could keep getting my medicine.
The doctors and nursing staff are amazing at SSMC and are always willing to help their patients out the best they can.
I have never been to a more unprofessional doctors office before. My previous doctor quit and I was unaware. When it came time for me to refill my prescription I was placed on hold for over an hour. Eventually I was able to speak with a receptionist and she said they could not refill my prescription without seeing a new doctor and refused to send an emergency supply to last me until I was able to get an appointment. She took all of my insurance information but did not save it to my account, so I had to do that prior to meeting with the new doctor. On the day of the appointment she forgot to add me to the schedule for an appointment even though she told me I had it at 2:45 on Jan. 11th. The receptionist staff was very rude and not understanding of my situation. I waited 30 minutes to see the doctor who agreed to see me between his other patients. I got back to the room and waited another 30 minutes. Eventually he came in and he said “Do you want a refill” I replied that I did. And I was able to leave. I will never be making an appointment there again!
My doctor and his nurses are really good people but the girl's at the front desk needs to change their attitude, they are kind of snooty. January 3rd today I called to get an appointment to see my doctor and they told me I couldn't get in till next week, then she hung up. My question is, what's the point in having a doctor if you can't get in to see them.
I called the morning of to make an appointment for my mother. They put her down for 1:20. I went over the insurance and what car she would be in. I checked them in at 1:11 and updated the car description. Front desk said, "I will get her checked in!" An hour and a half later with two infants in the car as well, no one has seen them. I called the front, "we don't have an appointment for her." So how was I able to check her in to begin with then?! Furious, especially when there are screaming kids in the car. THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!
You start by answering a text message on your cell phone asking you to update all of your personal health information before coming in. When you come in you are told they don't pay any attention to that information....so they ask you all the information again. How many patients time has been wasted? Waited 40 minutes to be seen for an appointment made months ago. Does anyone look at these reviews? The nurses are great, the doctors are great.. the office help is rude. They lack a good office manager.
