Welcome to Continental Jewelers! We share your passion and enthusiasm for beautiful jewelry and gemstones! Located in the heart of Brandywine Valley in Delaware, we pride ourselves on our knowledge, ethics and integrity. We can take care of all your jewelry needs, from the perfect engagement ring to a rare alexandrite (an amazing gemstone that changes color in different lighting), from changing a watch battery to restoring a family heirloom. We have a state of the art repair and design facility as well as an American Gem Society certified Gem Lab. And we do it all in a warm and homey environment in a beautifully situated brick and stone free-standing building. We like to say it’s “A Different Setting, a Different Experience”!

I have always been pleased with the customer service and expertise of the employees of Continental Jewelers. My husband has made gift purchases there and I just had a vintage set of rings restored to like-brand new. The job was very extensive and I am thrilled with the work that has been completed. I’d recommend this small business to anyone!
The salespeople are knowledgable. I had a ring resized, purchased an engagement band/ring from Miriam's attic, and had some jewelry appraised. I was told that the engagement band/ring that I purchased came from an estate sale and would maintain its value. I was under the impression that it was a Chanel ring. I paid close to $1,000. The ring/band sat in a box for about three years; I wore it for one week, and needed to return the it due to ending the relationship. Upon revisiting Continental, I learned that the ring has a Chanel setting, is not a Chanel brand ring a major factor in why I purchased the ring and that Continental would purchase it for $350. This seemed inconsistent with telling me it would hold its value. I feel misled and am disappointed that I lost so much money. I don't think I'll go back to Continental in the future.
My interactions with Chrysa and Continental Jewelers have been nothing but fantastic!! When I began searching for an engagement ring for my fiancée I was extremely nervous that I was going to be talked out of my budget and have a very impersonal experience. Instead I was met with an amazing experience where Chrysa always presented me the options, gave me the pros and cons, and let me make the decisions. She didn’t try to upsell me, but rather always worked her hardest to allow me to meet my needs. She’s so nice that we would even sometimes just sit there chatting after I had made decisions. I ended up getting an amazing engagement ring and went back with my fiancée to get our wedding bands. My fiancée loved the experience as well! The appointment format was also great as it felt more individualized and allowed you to really get the undivided attention you hope for when making such a big decision. Would recommend Continental Jewelers to anyone looking for a personalized and enjoyable jewelry shopping experience!
My fiance was recommended to visit this establishment from a very close family friend. He met with the president, Chryssa, and had a pleasant experience in designing my engagement ring. I, on the other hand, have not had similar experiences with the president since our engagement 7 months ago. I visited Continental last week for a ring cleaning and had the opportunity to discuss my wishes for my ring to be re-set from a low setting to a high setting. My concerns were that the beautiful diamond my fiance chose was not being displayed to it's utmost ability and I also am unable to purchase the wedding band of my choice because the setting forces me to purchase a band with a curve in it. Rather than being responded with understanding, I was responded with complete and utter disrespect. She took the time to list all the reasons as to why I shouldn't re-set the ring due to potential damages, continued to tell me the limited amount of customers that have ever asked her to alter one of her designs, and suggested I take the time to think on this more. I heard her concerns, but we had insurance for said potential damages and I also didn't want to continue wearing a ring that I wasn't happy with for the remainder of our lives. I asked if she had any high-set, rings in store that I could try on and determine from there and she arrogantly waived her arms and said, "Does it look like I have rings in this store?". I took that as sarcasm given it was, in fact, a jewelry store. However, she surprisingly was very much so serious and didn't have a single ring in store that I could try on, suggesting that I purchase something elsewhere to determine if I like the high-setting. After sharing this experience with my fiance, he was angered thinking that she was only kind to him because he had a credit card in hand and would share this encounter with our close family friend immediately. Because of this experience, we have determined that we will no longer be purchasing our wedding bands or any additional pieces from this establishment, nor will I continue to wear my ring representing her very strong, opinionated, preferences.
I have a personal story about Chrysa and Continental Jewelers. I purchased my wedding ring which is beautiful from Diane at Continental. Diane is so kind and helpful!! She even sent us a wedding card! Right before my wedding, my engagement band broke, but I didn’t have enough time to get it in and fixed before my wedding. Soon after my wedding, I brought it in to get fixed and get more gold added. I also wanted to make my wedding ring a bit bigger. I hated to be without both rings, but I knew Continental would make them perfect for me, as they have with my other jewelry they have fixed. I was told approximately two weeks for the repairs. During this time, my step-son suddenly passed away. It was a terrible accident that left us shocked and so sad. While planning his arrangements, I was near Continental and I called to see if my rings were ready. I happened to get Chrysa on the phone when I called. She checked and they weren’t ready yet I burst out crying and went into the whole tragic story of what happened to my step-son and how I just wanted my rings for the funeral. Chrysa made sure my rings were finished that day. Not only that, she got in her car on a Friday night and drove my rings up to where I live in Pennsylvania. She stayed and talked to me and hugged me. It was like we were old friends, when, in fact, this was the first time I ever met her. I could not get over her kindness and compassion. She went above and beyond what any store owner would do. I was so grateful!! So very thankful!! Continental is my jeweler for life. Not only do they take perfect care of your jewelry, they take care of their customers hearts!
Chryssa is amazing, kind, and patient. They really understand the sentimental journey of jewelry and how to be supportive without being one bit pushy. I’ll be working with them to redesign an old ring into a pendant, can’t wait to see how it comes out. The shop also has some beautiful pieces, it’s worth making an appointment!
My family has used Continental for 50 yrs. Yes, back when it was still at Graylyn crest shopping center. I went today and have never been treated so rudely! Clearly no desire to assist me. Will never return!! Will say Harris jeweler in Branmar was amazing and gladly helped me! Shame on you Continental
My family always enjoys doing business with Continental Jewelers. The staff is friendly and always take their time with you whether it is a jewelry repair or searching for a gift. I appreciate that unlike other stores the staff does not try to up sell. They have a wonderful selection of all different types of jewelry for men, women & children and if you don’t find what you want you can choose from their many catalogs. If you have not been to Continental Jewelers, stop by even to just browse
Continental is my favorite jewelry store! They have a wonderful variety of jewelry at different price points. I have to check out every case each time I visit. The staff are so dedicated to helping you find exactly what you want. I took a friend there last week and she bought a diamond ring! My husband shops for me there for birthdays and holidays. I love Continental Jewelers!
