Close to the Edmonds ferry... Read the reviews and they were all over the spectrum ... mostly polar extremes.... gah... very confusing... but due to the LivingSocial coupon, took the plunge to drive over the pond to eat here. The food was actually very good... All the entrees were creamy & vegetarian... saag paneer creamy spinach w/ cheese cubes and malai kofta veg cheese balls in creamy sauce, veggies in butter sauce curry, daal tadka, and plain naan. The basmati rice came with the meal. The restaurant itself is dank probably due to being next to the water & dark. Service was OK - Waiter took the order, served the food, refilled water, and brought the bill.... There were times he dissappeared... he lacks a personality, but that's completely OK, ... We're not at a 3 star Michelin restaurant... He was efficient when present. 4 stars bc of the food... Food 4 Service 3 Decor & Ambiance 2 Cleanliness 2
Hmm, this is the most interesting place I've ever written a review. Truly 2 sides to every coin here. CONS : Just walking up to it you wouldn't even think it's open. From the outside you'd think it was abandoned. And it is not clean on the inside. That's probably enough for most to hear. Our feet made that sticky sound while walking thru the restaurant. Men's bathroom had ants. Women's was fine, however the door doesn't lock. Napkins were stained and/or dirty. Just seems like no TLC really goes into this restaurant. PROS : The food is delicious! LOL! We couldn't make sense of it either. Suppose it depends on the person and what really makes or break the choice to try this place. After reading all the reviews and having dined in, I'd say all the reviews I've read are true. Which is crazy to say since these reviews go from absolutely loving this place or hating this place. Suppose it depends on the individual. In summary my best suggestion for this place would be for pick-up or use one of the many delivery services or coupons this place apparently uses. Our personal incentive to come here was using my Passport card which basically offers a buy one meal get the other free. Err on the side of caution when choosing your spicy star rating. My butter sauce was a 4 and I'm usually a 5 star kinda gal but this was almost too spicy to even to continue eating but I believe I broke thru to a higher taste bud level and was able to make it thru the meal. Either that or my taste buds melted off. But was tasty enough to power thru. I felt portion size was sufficient. Again this depends on the individual. BF has bigger eyes than his stomach and felt the portion size was lacking. However, I had enough left over to give to him and satisfy his appetite. And as far as service... I'm huge on customer service. We came on a Sunday afternoon. The place was completely empty. 1 server and 1 cook from what we could tell. We walked in and dude was like, sit here. Not sure if it's a culture thing but it came across unfriendly. He did the bare minimum with no side banter. So I can't really say if the service was good or bad. Lol again another limbo rating! And I'm not sure if this is what made the change but when the server was bringing our food he came right as I was taking pics of the nasty napkins. After that he seemed more personable I swear I even saw him smile and he came and checked up on us several times. Even left the carafe of water at the table when I mentioned the food was really good but spicy. Coincidence? Who knows! It's anyone's guess. So now it's up to you, who's reading this... Do you take the red pill or the blue pill?? Ha! And mysteriously the napkin photos are no longer on here hmmm
Good food, quantity and quality. Good service and good price. Good location and free parking. Found it on Groupon, and will definitely be coming back. Picture is Chicken Shehk kebab, Lamb Buryani & Mango Lassi. Definitely a lot of food for one person. I Dont like spicy ,l so I took 3 star... But I'm sure I could have handled . Samir is a good waiter. He recommended to dishes.
This place was amazing, I loved it! I highly recommend this for vegetarians or even vegans! This is my favorite place to eat. I also recommend the mixed vegetables. It shows a lot about the history Indian culture. One of the only things they need to change in my opinion is the seat, they are not anchored to the ground. This place is lovely!
Great Naan; The curries are just okay..needs improvement. Ambiance is okay for casual dining. They can make some quick improvements with the seats. Very close to the ferry
We had a party of 7 and we showed up without reservations. The staff was very friendly and accommodated us quite nicely. Two of our friends had never been to a Indian food restaurant before and they were very happy with the food and the service. We even found something on the menu for my 83 YO mom who is very picky about her meals. The food was excellent, the prices is well worth the quality, and the servers took great care of us. I'll definitely be back again.
I did a to go order while waiting in line for the ferry. Prices that are posted online is not what they charge when you get in there. I ordered a chicken and strips basket I know really Indian food and my fries were all odds and ends. Really frustrating. Definitely would not go back. Chicken did taste good though just not very much for what they charge.
I got stuck waiting quite a while for a ferry, so I walked over and ordered the butter chicken to go. I was not let down. Quite frankly, it was the highlight of my day. I've been treated with negligence at other Indian restaurants, and much to my delight, everyone at copper pot was so kind. The food was quick and they wrapped everything up nicely. I found my new favorite Indian restaurant :
We've been there almost once a week now and tonight plan to celebrate my birthday with friends at the Copper Pot. There was an Indian Restaurant there several years ago and the food was not good. These new owners have been here about a year and the food is terrific! It's fresh, delicious, and beautifully served. There's a full bar and they deliver! I've talked to several folks who have tried it and they also thought it was a great place. You know the food is authentic because every time we've been there, an Indian family comes in for a meal too!
I was pretty disappointed last time i went to the copper pot. I had been here before and I actually really liked the food. I had the butter chicken and my friend had the lamb puffs and I thought it was all delicious and thought I would eat here again while I waited for the ferry. So I say at the bar and order a beer and look at the menu. while I was waiting I noticed a good amount of ants all over the counter top. the place was not busy so there was plenty of time for employees to notice the same thing I did, and take care of it. If the sitting area is this bad I don't want to imagine the kitchen. if this was my first time here I would have gave this place 1 star.
