The WoodStone Taverna concept was created by the beloved Kafe Neo family. The heart and soul of the company is Edmonds native Sofeea Huffman, who opened the original Kafe Neo Edmonds in 1991. In 2006, Sofeea and the Kafe Neo family was blessed with the arrival of now Executive Chef and partner Clara Gutierrez. This brilliant young chef has been wowing those fortunate enough to taste her delectable creations since the day she moved here from Spain in 1993. Together, they have put in motion a new venture.
The new mission of these two determined women is to provide a tapas selection that challenges the palate w/ explosions of flavors and inconceivable quality during every visit. Clara out did herself creating a truly inspiring menu that incorporates an array of small Mediterranean Tapas creations w/ a Northwest twist. The Taverna concept inspires a warm, comfortable, and inviting atmosphere. We here at the Taverna take pride in creating a positive and unique experience for all of our patrons, ensuring regular visits to not only our establishment, but to the Edmonds & Mill Creek communities as a whole.

Our overall mission is to provide a service for everyone. From our casual diners, ferry-goers, loungees, happy hour travelers, to our late-night crowds, we look to be an exciting new addition to our surrounding communities. Our lounge provides a fantastic service as it is secluded in the back near the bar and incredible view of the Puget Sound. The private booth area has already proved to be a unique amenity. Being a viable option for birthdays, meetings, and ladies lounge nights w/ our reserve cocktail tables. Not to mention, the bar houses a 60" TV great for our local sports fans. None bigger than, our resident mascot, Demetri. Who after living in the charming Edmonds community since 1st grade, hopes to provide a vibrant and classy late-night destination known as, "The Taverna."
